As A Child

 

Matthew 18:1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

Matthew 18:2 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them,

Matthew 18:3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 18:4 “Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 18:5 “Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.

Matthew 18:6 “But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

Matthew 18:7 “Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!

Matthew 18:8 “If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire.

Matthew 18:9 “And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire.

Matthew 18:10 “Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 18:11 “For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.

Matthew 18:12 “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying?

Matthew 18:13 “And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray.

Matthew 18:14 “Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.

Matthew 18:15 “Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother.

Matthew 18:16 “But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’

Matthew 18:17 “And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.

Matthew 18:18 “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

Matthew 18:19 “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.

Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

Matthew 18:21 Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”

Matthew 18:22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.

Matthew 18:23 “Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants.

Matthew 18:24 “And when he had begun to settle accounts, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents.

Matthew 18:25 “But as he was not able to pay, his master commanded that he be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and that payment be made.

Matthew 18:26 “The servant therefore fell down before him, saying, ‘Master, have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’

Matthew 18:27 “Then the master of that servant was moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt.

Matthew 18:28 “But that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii; and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, ‘Pay me what you owe!’

Matthew 18:29 “So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’

Matthew 18:30 “And he would not, but went and threw him into prison till he should pay the debt.

Matthew 18:31 “So when his fellow servants saw what had been done, they were very grieved, and came and told their master all that had been done.

Matthew 18:32 “Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me.

Matthew 18:33 ‘Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?’

Matthew 18:34 “And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him.

Matthew 18:35 “So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses.”

Matthew 19:1 Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these sayings, that He departed from Galilee and came to the region of Judea beyond the Jordan.

Matthew 19:2 And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them there.

Matthew 19:3 The Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?”

Matthew 19:4 And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’

Matthew 19:5 “and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?

Matthew 19:6 “So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”

Matthew 19:7 They said to Him, “Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?”

Matthew 19:8 He said to them, “Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.

Matthew 19:9 “And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.”

Matthew 19:10 His disciples said to Him, “If such is the case of the man with his wife, it is better not to marry.”

Matthew 19:11 But He said to them, “All cannot accept this saying, but only those to whom it has been given:

Matthew 19:12 “For there are eunuchs who were born thus from their mother’s womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He who is able to accept it, let him accept it.”

Matthew 19:13 Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them.

Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 19:15 And He laid His hands on them and departed from there.

Matthew 19:16 Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?”

Matthew 19:17 So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

Matthew 19:18 He said to Him, “Which ones?” Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’

Matthew 19:19 ‘Honour your father and your mother,’ and, ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ “

Matthew 19:20 The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?”

Matthew 19:21 Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

Matthew 19:22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

Matthew 19:23 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 19:24 “And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

Matthew 19:25 When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”

Matthew 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Matthew 19:27 Then Peter answered and said to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore what shall we have?”

Matthew 19:28 So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Matthew 19:29 “And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.

Matthew 19:30 “But many who are first will be last, and the last first.

Mark 9:1 And He said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that there are some standing here who will not taste death till they see the kingdom of God present with power.”

Mark 9:2 Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up on a high mountain apart by themselves; and He was transfigured before them.

Mark 9:3 His clothes became shining, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them.

Mark 9:4 And Elijah appeared to them with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus.

Mark 9:5 Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah”—

Mark 9:6 because he did not know what to say, for they were greatly afraid.

Mark 9:7 And a cloud came and overshadowed them; and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!”

Mark 9:8 Suddenly, when they had looked around, they saw no one anymore, but only Jesus with themselves.

Mark 9:9 Now as they came down from the mountain, He commanded them that they should tell no one the things they had seen, till the Son of Man had risen from the dead.

Mark 9:10 So they kept this word to themselves, questioning what the rising from the dead meant.

Mark 9:11 And they asked Him, saying, “Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”

Mark 9:12 Then He answered and told them, “Indeed, Elijah is coming first and restores all things. And how is it written concerning the Son of Man, that He must suffer many things and be treated with contempt?

Mark 9:13 “But I say to you that Elijah has also come, and they did to him whatever they wished, as it is written of him.”

Mark 9:14 And when He came to the disciples, He saw a great multitude around them, and scribes disputing with them.

Mark 9:15 Immediately, when they saw Him, all the people were greatly amazed, and running to Him, greeted Him.

Mark 9:16 And He asked the scribes, “What are you discussing with them?”

Mark 9:17 Then one of the crowd answered and said, “Teacher, I brought You my son, who has a mute spirit.

Mark 9:18 “And wherever it seizes him, it throws him down; he foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth, and becomes rigid. So I spoke to Your disciples, that they should cast it out, but they could not.”

Mark 9:19 He answered him and said, “O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me.”

Mark 9:20 Then they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth.

Mark 9:21 So He asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood.

Mark 9:22 “And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”

Mark 9:23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

Mark 9:24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

Mark 9:25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it: “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!”

Mark 9:26 Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, “He is dead.”

Mark 9:27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.

Mark 9:28 And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?”

Mark 9:29 So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”

Mark 9:30 Then they departed from there and passed through Galilee, and He did not want anyone to know it.

Mark 9:31 For He taught His disciples and said to them, “The Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. And after He is killed, He will rise the third day.”

Mark 9:32 But they did not understand this saying, and were afraid to ask Him.

Mark 9:33 Then He came to Capernaum. And when He was in the house He asked them, “What was it you disputed among yourselves on the road?”

Mark 9:34 But they kept silent, for on the road they had disputed among themselves who would be the greatest.

Mark 9:35  And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.”

Mark 9:36 Then He took a little child and set him in the midst of them. And when He had taken him in His arms, He said to them,

Mark 9:37  “Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him who sent Me.”

Mark 9:38 Now John answered Him, saying, “Teacher, we saw someone who does not follow us casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow us.”

Mark 9:39 But Jesus said, “Do not forbid him, for no one who works a miracle in My name can soon afterward speak evil of Me.

Mark 9:40  “For he who is not against us is on our side.

Mark 9:41 “For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.

Mark 9:42  “But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea.

Mark 9:43 “If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched—

Mark 9:44 “where ‘Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.’

Mark 9:45 “And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched—

Mark 9:46 “where ‘Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.’

Mark 9:47 “And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire—

Mark 9:48 “where ‘Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.’

Mark 9:49  “For everyone will be seasoned with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt.

Mark 9:50  “Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavour, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another.”

Mark 10:1 Then He arose from there and came to the region of Judea by the other side of the Jordan. And multitudes gathered to Him again, and as He was accustomed, He taught them again.

Mark 10:2 The Pharisees came and asked Him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?” testing Him.

Mark 10:3 And He answered and said to them, “What did Moses command you?”

Mark 10:4 They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce, and to dismiss her.”

Mark 10:5 And Jesus answered and said to them, “Because of the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.

Mark 10:6  “But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’

Mark 10:7  ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife,

Mark 10:8  ‘and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh.

Mark 10:9  “Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”

Mark 10:10 In the house His disciples also asked Him again about the same matter.

Mark 10:11 So He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her.

Mark 10:12  “And if a woman divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”

Mark 10:13 Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them.

Mark 10:14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.

Mark 10:15  “Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”

Mark 10:16 And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.

Mark 10:17 Now as He was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?”

Mark 10:18 So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.

Mark 10:19 “You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honour your father and your mother.’ “

Mark 10:20 And he answered and said to Him, “Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth.”

Mark 10:21 Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.”

Mark 10:22 But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

Mark 10:23 Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!”

Mark 10:24 And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God!

Mark 10:25  “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

Mark 10:26 And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves, “Who then can be saved?”

Mark 10:27 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”

Mark 10:28 Then Peter began to say to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You.”

Mark 10:29 So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s,

Mark 10:30  “who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.

Mark 10:31  “But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”

Mark 10:32 Now they were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was going before them; and they were amazed. And as they followed they were afraid. Then He took the twelve aside again and began to tell them the things that would happen to Him:

Mark 10:33 “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and deliver Him to the Gentiles;

Mark 10:34 “and they will mock Him, and scourge Him, and spit on Him, and kill Him. And the third day He will rise again.”

Mark 10:35 Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Him, saying, “Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask.”

Mark 10:36 And He said to them, “What do you want Me to do for you?”

Mark 10:37 They said to Him, “Grant us that we may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on Your left, in Your glory.”

Mark 10:38 But Jesus said to them, “You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?”

Mark 10:39 They said to Him, “We are able.” So Jesus said to them, “You will indeed drink the cup that I drink, and with the baptism I am baptized with you will be baptized;

Mark 10:40  “but to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it is prepared.”

Mark 10:41 And when the ten heard it, they began to be greatly displeased with James and John.

Mark 10:42 But Jesus called them to Himself and said to them, “You know that those who are considered rulers over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.

Mark 10:43 “Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant.

Mark 10:44  “And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all.

Mark 10:45  “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Mark 10:46 Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging.

Mark 10:47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Mark 10:48 Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Mark 10:49 So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.”

Mark 10:50 And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus.

Mark 10:51 So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.”

Mark 10:52 Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.

Luke 18:1 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,

Luke 18:2 saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man.

Luke 18:3 “Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’

Luke 18:4 “And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man,

Luke 18:5 ‘yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’ “

Luke 18:6 Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said.

Luke 18:7 “And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?

Luke 18:8 “I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

Luke 18:9 Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

Luke 18:10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.

Luke 18:11 “The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.

Luke 18:12 ‘I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’

Luke 18:13 “And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’

Luke 18:14 “I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Luke 18:15 Then they also brought infants to Him that He might touch them; but when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.

Luke 18:16 But Jesus called them to Him and said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.

Luke 18:17 “Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”

Luke 18:18 Now a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

Luke 18:19 So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.

Luke 18:20 “You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Honour your father and your mother.’ “

Luke 18:21 And he said, “All these things I have kept from my youth.”

Luke 18:22 So when Jesus heard these things, He said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

Luke 18:23 But when he heard this, he became very sorrowful, for he was very rich.

Luke 18:24 And when Jesus saw that he became very sorrowful, He said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!

Luke 18:25 “For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

Luke 18:26 And those who heard it said, “Who then can be saved?”

Luke 18:27 But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”

Luke 18:28 Then Peter said, “See, we have left all and followed You.”

Luke 18:29 So He said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God,

Luke 18:30 “who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the age to come eternal life.”

Luke 18:31 Then He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be accomplished.

Luke 18:32 “For He will be delivered to the Gentiles and will be mocked and insulted and spit upon.

Luke 18:33  “They will scourge Him and kill Him. And the third day He will rise again.”

Luke 18:34 But they understood none of these things; this saying was hidden from them, and they did not know the things which were spoken.

Luke 18:35 Then it happened, as He was coming near Jericho, that a certain blind man sat by the road begging.

Luke 18:36 And hearing a multitude passing by, he asked what it meant.

Luke 18:37 So they told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.

Luke 18:38 And he cried out, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Luke 18:39 Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Luke 18:40 So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be brought to Him. And when he had come near, He asked him,

Luke 18:41 saying, “What do you want Me to do for you?” He said, “Lord, that I may receive my sight.”

Luke 18:42 Then Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.”

Luke 18:43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.

1 John 2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

1 John 2:2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

1 John 2:3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.

1 John 2:4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1 John 2:5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.

1 John 2:6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

1 John 2:7 Brethren, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard from the beginning.

1 John 2:8 Again, a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining.

1 John 2:9 He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now.

1 John 2:10 He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.

1 John 2:11 But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

1 John 2:12 I write to you, little children, Because your sins are forgiven you for His name’s sake.

1 John 2:13 I write to you, fathers, Because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, Because you have overcome the wicked one. I write to you, little children, Because you have known the Father.

1 John 2:14 I have written to you, fathers, Because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, Because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, And you have overcome the wicked one.

1 John 2:15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.

1 John 2:17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.

1 John 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.

1 John 2:20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.

1 John 2:21 I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.

1 John 2:23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

1 John 2:24 Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father.

1 John 2:25 And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life.

1 John 2:26 These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you.

1 John 2:27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.

1 John 2:28 And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.
