An Evil and Perverse Generation
Genesis 6:1 Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them,
Genesis 6:2 that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.
Genesis 6:3 And the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”
Genesis 6:4 There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.
Genesis 6:5 Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Genesis 6:6 And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.
Genesis 6:7 So the LORD said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.”
Genesis 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
Genesis 6:9 This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.
Genesis 6:10 And Noah begot three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
Genesis 6:11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
Genesis 6:12 So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.
Genesis 6:13 And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
Genesis 6:14 “Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch.
Genesis 6:15 “And this is how you shall make it: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.
Genesis 6:16 “You shall make a window for the ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit from above; and set the door of the ark in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third decks.
Genesis 6:17 “And behold, I Myself am bringing floodwaters on the earth, to destroy from under heaven all flesh in which is the breath of life; everything that is on the earth shall die.
Genesis 6:18 “But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall go into the ark–you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.
Genesis 6:19 “And of every living thing of all flesh you shall bring two of every sort into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female.
Genesis 6:20 “Of the birds after their kind, of animals after their kind, and of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every kind will come to you to keep them alive.
Genesis 6:21 “And you shall take for yourself of all food that is eaten, and you shall gather it to yourself; and it shall be food for you and for them.”
Genesis 6:22 Thus Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did.
Numbers 14:1 So all the congregation lifted up their voices and cried, and the people wept that night.
Numbers 14:2 And all the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them, “If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness!
Numbers 14:3 “Why has the LORD brought us to this land to fall by the sword, that our wives and children should become victims? Would it not be better for us to return to Egypt?”
Numbers 14:4 So they said to one another, “Let us select a leader and return to Egypt.”
Numbers 14:5 Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.
Numbers 14:6 But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes;
Numbers 14:7 and they spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: “The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land.
Numbers 14:8 “If the LORD delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which flows with milk and honey.’
Numbers 14:9 “Only do not rebel against the LORD, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the LORD is with us. Do not fear them.”
Numbers 14:10 And all the congregation said to stone them with stones. Now the glory of the LORD appeared in the tabernacle of meeting before all the children of Israel.
Numbers 14:11 Then the LORD said to Moses: “How long will these people reject Me? And how long will they not believe Me, with all the signs which I have performed among them?
Numbers 14:12 “I will strike them with the pestilence and disinherit them, and I will make of you a nation greater and mightier than they.”
Numbers 14:13 And Moses said to the LORD: “Then the Egyptians will hear it, for by Your might You brought these people up from among them,
Numbers 14:14 “and they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that You, LORD, are among these people; that You, LORD, are seen face to face and Your cloud stands above them, and You go before them in a pillar of cloud by day and in a pillar of fire by night.
Numbers 14:15 “Now if You kill these people as one man, then the nations which have heard of Your fame will speak, saying,
Numbers 14:16 ‘Because the LORD was not able to bring this people to the land which He swore to give them, therefore He killed them in the wilderness.’
Numbers 14:17 “And now, I pray, let the power of my Lord be great, just as You have spoken, saying,
Numbers 14:18 ‘The LORD is longsuffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He by no means clears the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation.’
Numbers 14:19 “Pardon the iniquity of this people, I pray, according to the greatness of Your mercy, just as You have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.”
Numbers 14:20 Then the LORD said: “I have pardoned, according to your word;
Numbers 14:21 “but truly, as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD–
Numbers 14:22 “because all these men who have seen My glory and the signs which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have put Me to the test now these ten times, and have not heeded My voice,
Numbers 14:23 “they certainly shall not see the land of which I swore to their fathers, nor shall any of those who rejected Me see it.
Numbers 14:24 “But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.
Numbers 14:25 “Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwell in the valley; tomorrow turn and move out into the wilderness by the Way of the Red Sea.”
Numbers 14:26 And the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,
Numbers 14:27 “How long shall I bear with this evil congregation who complain against Me? I have heard the complaints which the children of Israel make against Me.
Numbers 14:28 “Say to them, ‘As I live,’ says the LORD, ‘just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you:
Numbers 14:29 ‘The carcasses of you who have complained against Me shall fall in this wilderness, all of you who were numbered, according to your entire number, from twenty years old and above.
Numbers 14:30 ‘Except for Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun, you shall by no means enter the land which I swore I would make you dwell in.
Numbers 14:31 ‘But your little ones, whom you said would be victims, I will bring in, and they shall know the land which you have despised.
Numbers 14:32 ‘But as for you, your carcasses shall fall in this wilderness.
Numbers 14:33 ‘And your sons shall be shepherds in the wilderness forty years, and bear the brunt of your infidelity, until your carcasses are consumed in the wilderness.
Numbers 14:34 ‘According to the number of the days in which you spied out the land, forty days, for each day you shall bear your guilt one year, namely forty years, and you shall know My rejection.
Numbers 14:35 ‘I the LORD have spoken this. I will surely do so to all this evil congregation who are gathered together against Me. In this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.’ “
Numbers 14:36 Now the men whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned and made all the congregation complain against him by bringing a bad report of the land,
Numbers 14:37 those very men who brought the evil report about the land, died by the plague before the LORD.
Numbers 14:38 But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh remained alive, of the men who went to spy out the land.
Numbers 14:39 Then Moses told these words to all the children of Israel, and the people mourned greatly.
Numbers 14:40 And they rose early in the morning and went up to the top of the mountain, saying, “Here we are, and we will go up to the place which the LORD has promised, for we have sinned!”
Numbers 14:41 And Moses said, “Now why do you transgress the command of the LORD? For this will not succeed.
Numbers 14:42 “Do not go up, lest you be defeated by your enemies, for the LORD is not among you.
Numbers 14:43 “For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and you shall fall by the sword; because you have turned away from the LORD, the LORD will not be with you.”
Numbers 14:44 But they presumed to go up to the mountaintop. Nevertheless, neither the ark of the covenant of the LORD nor Moses departed from the camp.
Numbers 14:45 Then the Amalekites and the Canaanites who dwelt in that mountain came down and attacked them, and drove them back as far as Hormah.
Numbers 32:1 Now the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had a very great multitude of livestock; and when they saw the land of Jazer and the land of Gilead, that indeed the region was a place for livestock,
Numbers 32:2 the children of Gad and the children of Reuben came and spoke to Moses, to Eleazar the priest, and to the leaders of the congregation, saying,
Numbers 32:3 “Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Shebam, Nebo, and Beon,
Numbers 32:4 “the country which the LORD defeated before the congregation of Israel, is a land for livestock, and your servants have livestock.”
Numbers 32:5 Therefore they said, “If we have found favour in your sight, let this land be given to your servants as a possession. Do not take us over the Jordan.”
Numbers 32:6 And Moses said to the children of Gad and to the children of Reuben: “Shall your brethren go to war while you sit here?
Numbers 32:7 “Now why will you discourage the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the LORD has given them?
Numbers 32:8 “Thus your fathers did when I sent them away from Kadesh Barnea to see the land.
Numbers 32:9 “For when they went up to the Valley of Eshcol and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, so that they did not go into the land which the LORD had given them.
Numbers 32:10 “So the LORD’s anger was aroused on that day, and He swore an oath, saying,
Numbers 32:11 ‘Surely none of the men who came up from Egypt, from twenty years old and above, shall see the land of which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, because they have not wholly followed Me,
Numbers 32:12 ‘except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, the Kenizzite, and Joshua the son of Nun, for they have wholly followed the LORD.’
Numbers 32:13 “So the LORD’s anger was aroused against Israel, and He made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation that had done evil in the sight of the LORD was gone.
Numbers 32:14 “And look! You have risen in your fathers’ place, a brood of sinful men, to increase still more the fierce anger of the LORD against Israel.
Numbers 32:15 “For if you turn away from following Him, He will once again leave them in the wilderness, and you will destroy all these people.”
Numbers 32:16 Then they came near to him and said: “We will build sheepfolds here for our livestock, and cities for our little ones,
Numbers 32:17 “but we ourselves will be armed, ready to go before the children of Israel until we have brought them to their place; and our little ones will dwell in the fortified cities because of the inhabitants of the land.
Numbers 32:18 “We will not return to our homes until every one of the children of Israel has received his inheritance.
Numbers 32:19 “For we will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan and beyond, because our inheritance has fallen to us on this eastern side of the Jordan.”
Numbers 32:20 Then Moses said to them: “If you do this thing, if you arm yourselves before the LORD for the war,
Numbers 32:21 “and all your armed men cross over the Jordan before the LORD until He has driven out His enemies from before Him,
Numbers 32:22 “and the land is subdued before the LORD, then afterward you may return and be blameless before the LORD and before Israel; and this land shall be your possession before the LORD.
Numbers 32:23 “But if you do not do so, then take note, you have sinned against the LORD; and be sure your sin will find you out.
Numbers 32:24 “Build cities for your little ones and folds for your sheep, and do what has proceeded out of your mouth.”
Numbers 32:25 And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben spoke to Moses, saying: “Your servants will do as my lord commands.
Numbers 32:26 “Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our livestock will be there in the cities of Gilead;
Numbers 32:27 “but your servants will cross over, every man armed for war, before the LORD to battle, just as my lord says.”
Numbers 32:28 So Moses gave command concerning them to Eleazar the priest, to Joshua the son of Nun, and to the chief fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel.
Numbers 32:29 And Moses said to them: “If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben cross over the Jordan with you, every man armed for battle before the LORD, and the land is subdued before you, then you shall give them the land of Gilead as a possession.
Numbers 32:30 “But if they do not cross over armed with you, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Canaan.”
Numbers 32:31 Then the children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying: “As the LORD has said to your servants, so we will do.
Numbers 32:32 “We will cross over armed before the LORD into the land of Canaan, but the possession of our inheritance shall remain with us on this side of the Jordan.”
Numbers 32:33 So Moses gave to the children of Gad, to the children of Reuben, and to half the tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land with its cities within the borders, the cities of the surrounding country.
Numbers 32:34 And the children of Gad built Dibon and Ataroth and Aroer,
Numbers 32:35 Atroth and Shophan and Jazer and Jogbehah,
Numbers 32:36 Beth Nimrah and Beth Haran, fortified cities, and folds for sheep.
Numbers 32:37 And the children of Reuben built Heshbon and Elealeh and Kirjathaim,
Numbers 32:38 Nebo and Baal Meon (their names being changed) and Shibmah; and they gave other names to the cities which they built.
Numbers 32:39 And the children of Machir the son of Manasseh went to Gilead and took it, and dispossessed the Amorites who were in it.
Numbers 32:40 So Moses gave Gilead to Machir the son of Manasseh, and he dwelt in it.
Numbers 32:41 Also Jair the son of Manasseh went and took its small towns, and called them Havoth Jair.
Numbers 32:42 Then Nobah went and took Kenath and its villages, and he called it Nobah, after his own name.
Deuteronomy 1:1 These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel on this side of the Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain opposite Suph, between Paran, Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Dizahab.
Deuteronomy 1:2 It is eleven days’ journey from Horeb by way of Mount Seir to Kadesh Barnea.
Deuteronomy 1:3 Now it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spoke to the children of Israel according to all that the LORD had given him as commandments to them,
Deuteronomy 1:4 after he had killed Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, and Og king of Bashan, who dwelt at Ashtaroth in Edrei.
Deuteronomy 1:5 On this side of the Jordan in the land of Moab, Moses began to explain this law, saying,
Deuteronomy 1:6 “The LORD our God spoke to us in Horeb, saying: ‘You have dwelt long enough at this mountain.
Deuteronomy 1:7 ‘Turn and take your journey, and go to the mountains of the Amorites, to all the neighbouring places in the plain, in the mountains and in the lowland, in the South and on the seacoast, to the land of the Canaanites and to Lebanon, as far as the great river, the River Euphrates.
Deuteronomy 1:8 ‘See, I have set the land before you; go in and possess the land which the LORD swore to your fathers–to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob–to give to them and their descendants after them.’
Deuteronomy 1:9 “And I spoke to you at that time, saying: ‘I alone am not able to bear you.
Deuteronomy 1:10 ‘The LORD your God has multiplied you, and here you are today, as the stars of heaven in multitude.
Deuteronomy 1:11 ‘May the LORD God of your fathers make you a thousand times more numerous than you are, and bless you as He has promised you!
Deuteronomy 1:12 ‘How can I alone bear your problems and your burdens and your complaints?
Deuteronomy 1:13 ‘Choose wise, understanding, and knowledgeable men from among your tribes, and I will make them heads over you.’
Deuteronomy 1:14 “And you answered me and said, ‘The thing which you have told us to do is good.’
Deuteronomy 1:15 “So I took the heads of your tribes, wise and knowledgeable men, and made them heads over you, leaders of thousands, leaders of hundreds, leaders of fifties, leaders of tens, and officers for your tribes.
Deuteronomy 1:16 “Then I commanded your judges at that time, saying, ‘Hear the cases between your brethren, and judge righteously between a man and his brother or the stranger who is with him.
Deuteronomy 1:17 ‘You shall not show partiality in judgment; you shall hear the small as well as the great; you shall not be afraid in any man’s presence, for the judgment is God’s. The case that is too hard for you, bring to me, and I will hear it.’
Deuteronomy 1:18 “And I commanded you at that time all the things which you should do.
Deuteronomy 1:19 “So we departed from Horeb, and went through all that great and terrible wilderness which you saw on the way to the mountains of the Amorites, as the LORD our God had commanded us. Then we came to Kadesh Barnea.
Deuteronomy 1:20 “And I said to you, ‘You have come to the mountains of the Amorites, which the LORD our God is giving us.
Deuteronomy 1:21 ‘Look, the LORD your God has set the land before you; go up and possess it, as the LORD God of your fathers has spoken to you; do not fear or be discouraged.’
Deuteronomy 1:22 “And every one of you came near to me and said, ‘Let us send men before us, and let them search out the land for us, and bring back word to us of the way by which we should go up, and of the cities into which we shall come.’
Deuteronomy 1:23 “The plan pleased me well; so I took twelve of your men, one man from each tribe.
Deuteronomy 1:24 “And they departed and went up into the mountains, and came to the Valley of Eshcol, and spied it out.
Deuteronomy 1:25 “They also took some of the fruit of the land in their hands and brought it down to us; and they brought back word to us, saying, ‘It is a good land which the LORD our God is giving us.’
Deuteronomy 1:26 “Nevertheless you would not go up, but rebelled against the command of the LORD your God;
Deuteronomy 1:27 “and you complained in your tents, and said, ‘Because the LORD hates us, He has brought us out of the land of Egypt to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.
Deuteronomy 1:28 ‘Where can we go up? Our brethren have discouraged our hearts, saying, “The people are greater and taller than we; the cities are great and fortified up to heaven; moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.” ‘
Deuteronomy 1:29 “Then I said to you, ‘Do not be terrified, or afraid of them.
Deuteronomy 1:30 ‘The LORD your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you, according to all He did for you in Egypt before your eyes,
Deuteronomy 1:31 ‘and in the wilderness where you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a man carries his son, in all the way that you went until you came to this place.’
Deuteronomy 1:32 “Yet, for all that, you did not believe the LORD your God,
Deuteronomy 1:33 “who went in the way before you to search out a place for you to pitch your tents, to show you the way you should go, in the fire by night and in the cloud by day.
Deuteronomy 1:34 “And the LORD heard the sound of your words, and was angry, and took an oath, saying,
Deuteronomy 1:35 ‘Surely not one of these men of this evil generation shall see that good land of which I swore to give to your fathers,
Deuteronomy 1:36 ‘except Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him and his children I am giving the land on which he walked, because he wholly followed the LORD.’
Deuteronomy 1:37 “The LORD was also angry with me for your sakes, saying, ‘Even you shall not go in there.
Deuteronomy 1:38 ‘Joshua the son of Nun, who stands before you, he shall go in there. Encourage him, for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.
Deuteronomy 1:39 ‘Moreover your little ones and your children, who you say will be victims, who today have no knowledge of good and evil, they shall go in there; to them I will give it, and they shall possess it.
Deuteronomy 1:40 ‘But as for you, turn and take your journey into the wilderness by the Way of the Red Sea.’
Deuteronomy 1:41 “Then you answered and said to me, ‘We have sinned against the LORD; we will go up and fight, just as the LORD our God commanded us.’ And when everyone of you had girded on his weapons of war, you were ready to go up into the mountain.
Deuteronomy 1:42 “And the LORD said to me, ‘Tell them, “Do not go up nor fight, for I am not among you; lest you be defeated before your enemies.” ‘
Deuteronomy 1:43 “So I spoke to you; yet you would not listen, but rebelled against the command of the LORD, and presumptuously went up into the mountain.
Deuteronomy 1:44 “And the Amorites who dwelt in that mountain came out against you and chased you as bees do, and drove you back from Seir to Hormah.
Deuteronomy 1:45 “Then you returned and wept before the LORD, but the LORD would not listen to your voice nor give ear to you.
Deuteronomy 1:46 “So you remained in Kadesh many days, according to the days that you spent there.
Deuteronomy 9:1 “Hear, O Israel: You are to cross over the Jordan today, and go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourself, cities great and fortified up to heaven,
Deuteronomy 9:2 “a people great and tall, the descendants of the Anakim, whom you know, and of whom you heard it said, ‘Who can stand before the descendants of Anak?’
Deuteronomy 9:3 “Therefore understand today that the LORD your God is He who goes over before you as a consuming fire. He will destroy them and bring them down before you; so you shall drive them out and destroy them quickly, as the LORD has said to you.
Deuteronomy 9:4 “Do not think in your heart, after the LORD your God has cast them out before you, saying, ‘Because of my righteousness the LORD has brought me in to possess this land’; but it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the LORD is driving them out from before you.
Deuteronomy 9:5 “It is not because of your righteousness or the uprightness of your heart that you go in to possess their land, but because of the wickedness of these nations that the LORD your God drives them out from before you, and that He may fulfill the word which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Deuteronomy 9:6 “Therefore understand that the LORD your God is not giving you this good land to possess because of your righteousness, for you are a stiff-necked people.
Deuteronomy 9:7 “Remember! Do not forget how you provoked the LORD your God to wrath in the wilderness. From the day that you departed from the land of Egypt until you came to this place, you have been rebellious against the LORD.
Deuteronomy 9:8 “Also in Horeb you provoked the LORD to wrath, so that the LORD was angry enough with you to have destroyed you.
Deuteronomy 9:9 “When I went up into the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant which the LORD made with you, then I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights. I neither ate bread nor drank water.
Deuteronomy 9:10 “Then the LORD delivered to me two tablets of stone written with the finger of God, and on them were all the words which the LORD had spoken to you on the mountain from the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.
Deuteronomy 9:11 “And it came to pass, at the end of forty days and forty nights, that the LORD gave me the two tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant.
Deuteronomy 9:12 “Then the LORD said to me, ‘Arise, go down quickly from here, for your people whom you brought out of Egypt have acted corruptly; they have quickly turned aside from the way which I commanded them; they have made themselves a molded image.’
Deuteronomy 9:13 “Furthermore the LORD spoke to me, saying, ‘I have seen this people, and indeed they are a stiff-necked people.
Deuteronomy 9:14 ‘Let Me alone, that I may destroy them and blot out their name from under heaven; and I will make of you a nation mightier and greater than they.’
Deuteronomy 9:15 “So I turned and came down from the mountain, and the mountain burned with fire; and the two tablets of the covenant were in my two hands.
Deuteronomy 9:16 “And I looked, and behold, you had sinned against the LORD your God–had made for yourselves a molded calf! You had turned aside quickly from the way which the LORD had commanded you.
Deuteronomy 9:17 “Then I took the two tablets and threw them out of my two hands and broke them before your eyes.
Deuteronomy 9:18 “And I fell down before the LORD, as at the first, forty days and forty nights; I neither ate bread nor drank water, because of all your sin which you committed in doing wickedly in the sight of the LORD, to provoke Him to anger.
Deuteronomy 9:19 “For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure with which the LORD was angry with you, to destroy you. But the LORD listened to me at that time also.
Deuteronomy 9:20 “And the LORD was very angry with Aaron and would have destroyed him; so I prayed for Aaron also at the same time.
Deuteronomy 9:21 “Then I took your sin, the calf which you had made, and burned it with fire and crushed it and ground it very small, until it was as fine as dust; and I threw its dust into the brook that descended from the mountain.
Deuteronomy 9:22 “Also at Taberah and Massah and Kibroth Hattaavah you provoked the LORD to wrath.
Deuteronomy 9:23 “Likewise, when the LORD sent you from Kadesh Barnea, saying, ‘Go up and possess the land which I have given you,’ then you rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God, and you did not believe Him nor obey His voice.
Deuteronomy 9:24 “You have been rebellious against the LORD from the day that I knew you.
Deuteronomy 9:25 “Thus I prostrated myself before the LORD; forty days and forty nights I kept prostrating myself, because the LORD had said He would destroy you.
Deuteronomy 9:26 “Therefore I prayed to the LORD, and said: ‘O Lord GOD, do not destroy Your people and Your inheritance whom You have redeemed through Your greatness, whom You have brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
Deuteronomy 9:27 ‘Remember Your servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; do not look on the stubbornness of this people, or on their wickedness or their sin,
Deuteronomy 9:28 ‘lest the land from which You brought us should say, “Because the LORD was not able to bring them to the land which He promised them, and because He hated them, He has brought them out to kill them in the wilderness.”
Deuteronomy 9:29 ‘Yet they are Your people and Your inheritance, whom You brought out by Your mighty power and by Your outstretched arm.’
Deuteronomy 13:1 “If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder,
Deuteronomy 13:2 “and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other gods’–which you have not known–‘and let us serve them,’
Deuteronomy 13:3 “you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for the LORD your God is testing you to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
Deuteronomy 13:4 “You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice; you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him.
Deuteronomy 13:5 “But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has spoken in order to turn you away from the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of bondage, to entice you from the way in which the LORD your God commanded you to walk. So you shall put away the evil from your midst.
Deuteronomy 13:6 “If your brother, the son of your mother, your son or your daughter, the wife of your bosom, or your friend who is as your own soul, secretly entices you, saying, ‘Let us go and serve other gods,’ which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers,
Deuteronomy 13:7 “of the gods of the people which are all around you, near to you or far off from you, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth,
Deuteronomy 13:8 “you shall not consent to him or listen to him, nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare him or conceal him;
Deuteronomy 13:9 “but you shall surely kill him; your hand shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people.
Deuteronomy 13:10 “And you shall stone him with stones until he dies, because he sought to entice you away from the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
Deuteronomy 13:11 “So all Israel shall hear and fear, and not again do such wickedness as this among you.
Deuteronomy 13:12 “If you hear someone in one of your cities, which the LORD your God gives you to dwell in, saying,
Deuteronomy 13:13 ‘Corrupt men have gone out from among you and enticed the inhabitants of their city, saying, “Let us go and serve other gods” ‘–which you have not known–
Deuteronomy 13:14 “then you shall inquire, search out, and ask diligently. And if it is indeed true and certain that such an abomination was committed among you,
Deuteronomy 13:15 “you shall surely strike the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying it, all that is in it and its livestock–with the edge of the sword.
Deuteronomy 13:16 “And you shall gather all its plunder into the middle of the street, and completely burn with fire the city and all its plunder, for the LORD your God. It shall be a heap forever; it shall not be built again.
Deuteronomy 13:17 “So none of the accursed things shall remain in your hand, that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of His anger and show you mercy, have compassion on you and multiply you, just as He swore to your fathers,
Deuteronomy 13:18 “because you have listened to the voice of the LORD your God, to keep all His commandments which I command you today, to do what is right in the eyes of the LORD your God.
Deuteronomy 31:1 Then Moses went and spoke these words to all Israel.
Deuteronomy 31:2 And he said to them: “I am one hundred and twenty years old today. I can no longer go out and come in. Also the LORD has said to me, ‘You shall not cross over this Jordan.’
Deuteronomy 31:3 “The LORD your God Himself crosses over before you; He will destroy these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess them. Joshua himself crosses over before you, just as the LORD has said.
Deuteronomy 31:4 “And the LORD will do to them as He did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites and their land, when He destroyed them.
Deuteronomy 31:5 “The LORD will give them over to you, that you may do to them according to every commandment which I have commanded you.
Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
Deuteronomy 31:7 Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and of good courage, for you must go with this people to the land which the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall cause them to inherit it.
Deuteronomy 31:8 “And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”
Deuteronomy 31:9 So Moses wrote this law and delivered it to the priests, the sons of Levi, who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and to all the elders of Israel.
Deuteronomy 31:10 And Moses commanded them, saying: “At the end of every seven years, at the appointed time in the year of release, at the Feast of Tabernacles,
Deuteronomy 31:11 “when all Israel comes to appear before the LORD your God in the place which He chooses, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing.
Deuteronomy 31:12 “Gather the people together, men and women and little ones, and the stranger who is within your gates, that they may hear and that they may learn to fear the LORD your God and carefully observe all the words of this law,
Deuteronomy 31:13 “and that their children, who have not known it, may hear and learn to fear the LORD your God as long as you live in the land which you cross the Jordan to possess.”
Deuteronomy 31:14 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, the days approach when you must die; call Joshua, and present yourselves in the tabernacle of meeting, that I may inaugurate him.” So Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves in the tabernacle of meeting.
Deuteronomy 31:15 Now the LORD appeared at the tabernacle in a pillar of cloud, and the pillar of cloud stood above the door of the tabernacle.
Deuteronomy 31:16 And the LORD said to Moses: “Behold, you will rest with your fathers; and this people will rise and play the harlot with the gods of the foreigners of the land, where they go to be among them, and they will forsake Me and break My covenant which I have made with them.
Deuteronomy 31:17 “Then My anger shall be aroused against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide My face from them, and they shall be devoured. And many evils and troubles shall befall them, so that they will say in that day, ‘Have not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?’
Deuteronomy 31:18 “And I will surely hide My face in that day because of all the evil which they have done, in that they have turned to other gods.
Deuteronomy 31:19 “Now therefore, write down this song for yourselves, and teach it to the children of Israel; put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for Me against the children of Israel.
Deuteronomy 31:20 “When I have brought them to the land flowing with milk and honey, of which I swore to their fathers, and they have eaten and filled themselves and grown fat, then they will turn to other gods and serve them; and they will provoke Me and break My covenant.
Deuteronomy 31:21 “Then it shall be, when many evils and troubles have come upon them, that this song will testify against them as a witness; for it will not be forgotten in the mouths of their descendants, for I know the inclination of their behaviour today, even before I have brought them to the land of which I swore to give them.”
Deuteronomy 31:22 Therefore Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it to the children of Israel.
Deuteronomy 31:23 Then He inaugurated Joshua the son of Nun, and said, “Be strong and of good courage; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land of which I swore to them, and I will be with you.”
Deuteronomy 31:24 So it was, when Moses had completed writing the words of this law in a book, when they were finished,
Deuteronomy 31:25 that Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying:
Deuteronomy 31:26 “Take this Book of the Law, and put it beside the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there as a witness against you;
Deuteronomy 31:27 “for I know your rebellion and your stiff neck. If today, while I am yet alive with you, you have been rebellious against the LORD, then how much more after my death?
Deuteronomy 31:28 “Gather to me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their hearing and call heaven and earth to witness against them.
Deuteronomy 31:29 “For I know that after my death you will become utterly corrupt, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you. And evil will befall you in the latter days, because you will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke Him to anger through the work of your hands.”
Deuteronomy 31:30 Then Moses spoke in the hearing of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song until they were ended:
Deuteronomy 32:1 “Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak; And hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
Deuteronomy 32:2 Let my teaching drop as the rain, My speech distill as the dew, As raindrops on the tender herb, And as showers on the grass.
Deuteronomy 32:3 For I proclaim the name of the LORD: Ascribe greatness to our God.
Deuteronomy 32:4 He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He.
Deuteronomy 32:5 “They have corrupted themselves; They are not His children, Because of their blemish: A perverse and crooked generation.
Deuteronomy 32:6 Do you thus deal with the LORD, O foolish and unwise people? Is He not your Father, who bought you? Has He not made you and established you?
Deuteronomy 32:7 “Remember the days of old, Consider the years of many generations. Ask your father, and he will show you; Your elders, and they will tell you:
Deuteronomy 32:8 When the Most High divided their inheritance to the nations, When He separated the sons of Adam, He set the boundaries of the peoples According to the number of the children of Israel.
Deuteronomy 32:9 For the LORD’s portion is His people; Jacob is the place of His inheritance.
Deuteronomy 32:10 “He found him in a desert land And in the wasteland, a howling wilderness; He encircled him, He instructed him, He kept him as the apple of His eye.
Deuteronomy 32:11 As an eagle stirs up its nest, Hovers over its young, Spreading out its wings, taking them up, Carrying them on its wings,
Deuteronomy 32:12 So the LORD alone led him, And there was no foreign god with him.
Deuteronomy 32:13 “He made him ride in the heights of the earth, That he might eat the produce of the fields; He made him draw honey from the rock, And oil from the flinty rock;
Deuteronomy 32:14 Curds from the cattle, and milk of the flock, With fat of lambs; And rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, With the choicest wheat; And you drank wine, the blood of the grapes.
Deuteronomy 32:15 “But Jeshurun grew fat and kicked; You grew fat, you grew thick, You are obese! Then he forsook God who made him, And scornfully esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
Deuteronomy 32:16 They provoked Him to jealousy with foreign gods; With abominations they provoked Him to anger.
Deuteronomy 32:17 They sacrificed to demons, not to God, To gods they did not know, To new gods, new arrivals That your fathers did not fear.
Deuteronomy 32:18 Of the Rock who begot you, you are unmindful, And have forgotten the God who fathered you.
Deuteronomy 32:19 “And when the LORD saw it, He spurned them, Because of the provocation of His sons and His daughters.
Deuteronomy 32:20 And He said: ‘I will hide My face from them, I will see what their end will be, For they are a perverse generation, Children in whom is no faith.
Deuteronomy 32:21 They have provoked Me to jealousy by what is not God; They have moved Me to anger by their foolish idols. But I will provoke them to jealousy by those who are not a nation; I will move them to anger by a foolish nation.
Deuteronomy 32:22 For a fire is kindled in My anger, And shall burn to the lowest hell; It shall consume the earth with her increase, And set on fire the foundations of the mountains.
Deuteronomy 32:23 ‘I will heap disasters on them; I will spend My arrows on them.
Deuteronomy 32:24 They shall be wasted with hunger, Devoured by pestilence and bitter destruction; I will also send against them the teeth of beasts, With the poison of serpents of the dust.
Deuteronomy 32:25 The sword shall destroy outside; There shall be terror within For the young man and virgin, The nursing child with the man of gray hairs.
Deuteronomy 32:26 I would have said, “I will dash them in pieces, I will make the memory of them to cease from among men,”
Deuteronomy 32:27 Had I not feared the wrath of the enemy, Lest their adversaries should misunderstand, Lest they should say, “Our hand is high; And it is not the LORD who has done all this.” ‘
Deuteronomy 32:28 “For they are a nation void of counsel, Nor is there any understanding in them.
Deuteronomy 32:29 Oh, that they were wise, that they understood this, That they would consider their latter end!
Deuteronomy 32:30 How could one chase a thousand, And two put ten thousand to flight, Unless their Rock had sold them, And the LORD had surrendered them?
Deuteronomy 32:31 For their rock is not like our Rock, Even our enemies themselves being judges.
Deuteronomy 32:32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom And of the fields of Gomorrah; Their grapes are grapes of gall, Their clusters are bitter.
Deuteronomy 32:33 Their wine is the poison of serpents, And the cruel venom of cobras.
Deuteronomy 32:34 ‘Is this not laid up in store with Me, Sealed up among My treasures?
Deuteronomy 32:35 Vengeance is Mine, and recompense; Their foot shall slip in due time; For the day of their calamity is at hand, And the things to come hasten upon them.’
Deuteronomy 32:36 “For the LORD will judge His people And have compassion on His servants, When He sees that their power is gone, And there is no one remaining, bond or free.
Deuteronomy 32:37 He will say: ‘Where are their gods, The rock in which they sought refuge?
Deuteronomy 32:38 Who ate the fat of their sacrifices, And drank the wine of their drink offering? Let them rise and help you, And be your refuge.
Deuteronomy 32:39 ‘Now see that I, even I, am He, And there is no God besides Me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; Nor is there any who can deliver from My hand.
Deuteronomy 32:40 For I raise My hand to heaven, And say, “As I live forever,
Deuteronomy 32:41 If I whet My glittering sword, And My hand takes hold on judgment, I will render vengeance to My enemies, And repay those who hate Me.
Deuteronomy 32:42 I will make My arrows drunk with blood, And My sword shall devour flesh, With the blood of the slain and the captives, From the heads of the leaders of the enemy.” ‘
Deuteronomy 32:43 “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people; For He will avenge the blood of His servants, And render vengeance to His adversaries; He will provide atonement for His land and His people.”
Deuteronomy 32:44 So Moses came with Joshua the son of Nun and spoke all the words of this song in the hearing of the people.
Deuteronomy 32:45 Moses finished speaking all these words to all Israel,
Deuteronomy 32:46 and he said to them: “Set your hearts on all the words which I testify among you today, which you shall command your children to be careful to observe–all the words of this law.
Deuteronomy 32:47 “For it is not a futile thing for you, because it is your life, and by this word you shall prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to possess.”
Deuteronomy 32:48 Then the LORD spoke to Moses that very same day, saying:
Deuteronomy 32:49 “Go up this mountain of the Abarim, Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, across from Jericho; view the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel as a possession;
Deuteronomy 32:50 “and die on the mountain which you ascend, and be gathered to your people, just as Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people;
Deuteronomy 32:51 “because you trespassed against Me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah Kadesh, in the Wilderness of Zin, because you did not hallow Me in the midst of the children of Israel.
Deuteronomy 32:52 “Yet you shall see the land before you, though you shall not go there, into the land which I am giving to the children of Israel.”
Psalm 7:1 A Meditation of David, which he sang to the LORD concerning the words of Cush, a Benjamite. O LORD my God, in You I put my trust; Save me from all those who persecute me; And deliver me,
Psalm 7:2 Lest they tear me like a lion, Rending me in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
Psalm 7:3 O LORD my God, if I have done this: If there is iniquity in my hands,
Psalm 7:4 If I have repaid evil to him who was at peace with me, Or have plundered my enemy without cause,
Psalm 7:5 Let the enemy pursue me and overtake me; Yes, let him trample my life to the earth, And lay my honour in the dust. Selah
Psalm 7:6 Arise, O LORD, in Your anger; Lift Yourself up because of the rage of my enemies; Rise up for me to the judgment You have commanded!
Psalm 7:7 So the congregation of the peoples shall surround You; For their sakes, therefore, return on high.
Psalm 7:8 The LORD shall judge the peoples; Judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, And according to my integrity within me.
Psalm 7:9 Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, But establish the just; For the righteous God tests the hearts and minds.

Psalm 14:1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.
Psalm 14:2 The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.
Psalm 14:3 They have all turned aside, They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one.
Psalm 14:4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my people as they eat bread, And do not call on the LORD?
Psalm 14:5 There they are in great fear, For God is with the generation of the righteous.
Psalm 14:6 You shame the counsel of the poor, But the LORD is his refuge.
Psalm 14:7 Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORD brings back the captivity of His people, Let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad.
Psalm 94:1 O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongs–O God, to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth!
Psalm 94:2 Rise up, O Judge of the earth; Render punishment to the proud.
Psalm 94:3 LORD, how long will the wicked, How long will the wicked triumph?
Psalm 94:4 They utter speech, and speak insolent things; All the workers of iniquity boast in themselves.
Psalm 94:5 They break in pieces Your people, O LORD, And afflict Your heritage.

Psalm 94:7 Yet they say, “The LORD does not see, Nor does the God of Jacob understand.”

Psalm 94:9 He who planted the ear, shall He not hear? He who formed the eye, shall He not see?
Psalm 94:10 He who instructs the nations, shall He not correct, He who teaches man knowledge?
Psalm 94:11 The LORD knows the thoughts of man, That they are futile.
Psalm 94:12 Blessed is the man whom You instruct, O LORD, and teach out of Your law,
Psalm 94:13 That You may give him rest from the days of adversity, Until the pit is dug for the wicked.
Psalm 94:14 For the LORD will not cast off His people, Nor will He forsake His inheritance.
Psalm 94:15 But judgment will return to righteousness, And all the upright in heart will follow it.
Psalm 94:16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
Psalm 94:17 Unless the LORD had been my help, My soul would soon have settled in silence.
Psalm 94:18 If I say, “My foot slips,” Your mercy, O LORD, will hold me up.
Psalm 94:19 In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.
Psalm 94:20 Shall the throne of iniquity, which devises evil by law, have fellowship with You?
Psalm 94:21 They gather together against the life of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood.
Psalm 94:22 But the LORD has been my defense, and my God the rock of my refuge.
Psalm 94:23 He has brought on them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; The LORD our God shall cut them off.
Jeremiah 14:1 The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah concerning the droughts.
Jeremiah 14:2 “Judah mourns, and her gates languish; They mourn for the land, and the cry of Jerusalem has gone up.
Jeremiah 14:3 Their nobles have sent their lads for water; They went to the cisterns and found no water. They returned with their vessels empty; They were ashamed and confounded and covered their heads.
Jeremiah 14:4 Because the ground is parched, for there was no rain in the land, the plowmen were ashamed; They covered their heads.
Jeremiah 14:5 Yes, the deer also gave birth in the field, But left because there was no grass.
Jeremiah 14:6 And the wild donkeys stood in the desolate heights; They sniffed at the wind like jackals; Their eyes failed because there was no grass.”
Jeremiah 14:7 O LORD, though our iniquities testify against us, Do it for Your name’s sake; For our backslidings are many, We have sinned against You.
Jeremiah 14:8 O the Hope of Israel, his Saviour in time of trouble, Why should You be like a stranger in the land, and like a traveler who turns aside to tarry for a night?
Jeremiah 14:9 Why should You be like a man astonished, Like a mighty one who cannot save? Yet You, O LORD, are in our midst, and we are called by Your name; Do not leave us!
Jeremiah 14:10 Thus says the LORD to this people: “Thus they have loved to wander; They have not restrained their feet. Therefore the LORD does not accept them; He will remember their iniquity now, and punish their sins.”
Jeremiah 14:11 Then the LORD said to me, “Do not pray for this people, for their good.
Jeremiah 14:12 “When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I will not accept them. But I will consume them by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence.”
Jeremiah 14:13 Then I said, “Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, the prophets say to them, ‘You shall not see the sword, nor shall you have famine, but I will give you assured peace in this place.’ “
Jeremiah 14:14 And the LORD said to me, “The prophets prophesy lies in My name. I have not sent them, commanded them, nor spoken to them; they prophesy to you a false vision, divination, a worthless thing, and the deceit of their heart.
Jeremiah 14:15 “Therefore thus says the LORD concerning the prophets who prophesy in My name, whom I did not send, and who say, ‘Sword and famine shall not be in this land’–‘By sword and famine those prophets shall be consumed!
Jeremiah 14:16 ‘And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; they will have no one to bury them–them nor their wives, their sons nor their daughters–for I will pour their wickedness on them.’
Jeremiah 14:17 “Therefore you shall say this word to them: ‘Let my eyes flow with tears night and day, And let them not cease; For the virgin daughter of my people Has been broken with a mighty stroke, with a very severe blow.
Jeremiah 14:18 If I go out to the field, Then behold, those slain with the sword! And if I enter the city, Then behold, those sick from famine! Yes, both prophet and priest go about in a land they do not know.’ “
Jeremiah 14:19 Have You utterly rejected Judah? Has Your soul loathed Zion? Why have You stricken us so that there is no healing for us? We looked for peace, but there was no good; And for the time of healing, and there was trouble.
Jeremiah 14:20 We acknowledge, O LORD, our wickedness And the iniquity of our fathers, For we have sinned against You.
Jeremiah 14:21 Do not abhor us, for Your name’s sake; Do not disgrace the throne of Your glory. Remember, do not break Your covenant with us.
Jeremiah 14:22 Are there any among the idols of the nations that can cause rain? Or can the heavens give showers? Are You not He, O LORD our God? Therefore we will wait for You, Since You have made all these.
Jeremiah 23:1 “Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture!” says the LORD.
Jeremiah 23:2 Therefore thus says the LORD God of Israel against the shepherds who feed My people: “You have scattered My flock, driven them away, and not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for the evil of your doings,” says the LORD.
Jeremiah 23:3 “But I will gather the remnant of My flock out of all countries where I have driven them, and bring them back to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.
Jeremiah 23:4 “I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor shall they be lacking,” says the LORD.
Jeremiah 23:5 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, “That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.
Jeremiah 23:6 In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Jeremiah 23:7 “Therefore, behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, “that they shall no longer say, ‘As the LORD lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,’
Jeremiah 23:8 “but, ‘As the LORD lives who brought up and led the descendants of the house of Israel from the north country and from all the countries where I had driven them.’ And they shall dwell in their own land.”
Jeremiah 23:9 My heart within me is broken because of the prophets; All my bones shake. I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine has overcome, because of the LORD, and because of His holy words.
Jeremiah 23:10 For the land is full of adulterers; For because of a curse the land mourns. The pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up. Their course of life is evil, And their might is not right.
Jeremiah 23:11 “For both prophet and priest are profane; Yes, in My house I have found their wickedness,” says the LORD.
Jeremiah 23:12 “Therefore their way shall be to them Like slippery ways; In the darkness they shall be driven on And fall in them; For I will bring disaster on them, The year of their punishment,” says the LORD.
Jeremiah 23:13 “And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria: They prophesied by Baal And caused My people Israel to err.
Jeremiah 23:14 Also I have seen a horrible thing in the prophets of Jerusalem: They commit adultery and walk in lies; They also strengthen the hands of evildoers, So that no one turns back from his wickedness. All of them are like Sodom to Me, And her inhabitants like Gomorrah.
Jeremiah 23:15 “Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets: ‘Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, And make them drink the water of gall; For from the prophets of Jerusalem Profaneness has gone out into all the land.’ “
Jeremiah 23:16 Thus says the LORD of hosts: “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They make you worthless; They speak a vision of their own heart, Not from the mouth of the LORD.
Jeremiah 23:17 They continually say to those who despise Me, ‘The LORD has said, “You shall have peace” ‘; And to everyone who walks according to the dictates of his own heart, they say, ‘No evil shall come upon you.’ “
Jeremiah 23:18 For who has stood in the counsel of the LORD, and has perceived and heard His word? Who has marked His word and heard it?
Jeremiah 23:19 Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD has gone forth in fury–A violent whirlwind! It will fall violently on the head of the wicked.
Jeremiah 23:20 The anger of the LORD will not turn back until He has executed and performed the thoughts of His heart. In the latter days you will understand it perfectly.
Jeremiah 23:21 “I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran. I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
Jeremiah 23:22 But if they had stood in My counsel, and had caused My people to hear My words, then they would have turned them from their evil way and from the evil of their doings.
Jeremiah 23:23 “Am I a God near at hand,” says the LORD, “And not a God afar off?
Jeremiah 23:24 Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him?” says the LORD; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the LORD.
Jeremiah 23:25 “I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in My name, saying, ‘I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’
Jeremiah 23:26 “How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies? Indeed they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart,
Jeremiah 23:27 “who try to make My people forget My name by their dreams which everyone tells his neighbour, as their fathers forgot My name for Baal.
Jeremiah 23:28 “The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream; And he who has My word, let him speak My word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat?” says the LORD.
Jeremiah 23:29 “Is not My word like a fire?” says the LORD, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?
Jeremiah 23:30 “Therefore behold, I am against the prophets,” says the LORD, “who steal My words every one from his neighbour.
Jeremiah 23:31 “Behold, I am against the prophets,” says the LORD, “who use their tongues and say, ‘He says.’
Jeremiah 23:32 “Behold, I am against those who prophesy false dreams,” says the LORD, “and tell them, and cause My people to err by their lies and by their recklessness. Yet I did not send them or command them; therefore they shall not profit this people at all,” says the LORD.
Jeremiah 23:33 “So when these people or the prophet or the priest ask you, saying, ‘What is the oracle of the LORD?’ you shall then say to them, ‘What oracle?’ I will even forsake you,” says the LORD.
Jeremiah 23:34 “And as for the prophet and the priest and the people who say, ‘The oracle of the LORD!’ I will even punish that man and his house.
Jeremiah 23:35 “Thus every one of you shall say to his neighbour, and every one to his brother, ‘What has the LORD answered?’ and, ‘What has the LORD spoken?’
Jeremiah 23:36 “And the oracle of the LORD you shall mention no more. For every man’s word will be his oracle, for you have perverted the words of the living God, the LORD of hosts, our God.
Jeremiah 23:37 “Thus you shall say to the prophet, ‘What has the LORD answered you?’ and, ‘What has the LORD spoken?’
Jeremiah 23:38 “But since you say, ‘The oracle of the LORD!’ therefore thus says the LORD: ‘Because you say this word, “The oracle of the LORD!” and I have sent to you, saying, “Do not say, ‘The oracle of the LORD!’ “
Jeremiah 23:39 ‘therefore behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you and forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and will cast you out of My presence.
Jeremiah 23:40 ‘And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.’ “
Jeremiah 44:1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews who dwell in the land of Egypt, who dwell at Migdol, at Tahpanhes, at Noph, and in the country of Pathros, saying,
Jeremiah 44:2 “Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: ‘You have seen all the calamity that I have brought on Jerusalem and on all the cities of Judah; and behold, this day they are a desolation, and no one dwells in them,
Jeremiah 44:3 ‘because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke Me to anger, in that they went to burn incense and to serve other gods whom they did not know, they nor you nor your fathers.
Jeremiah 44:4 ‘However I have sent to you all My servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, “Oh, do not do this abominable thing that I hate!”
Jeremiah 44:5 ‘But they did not listen or incline their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense to other gods.
Jeremiah 44:6 ‘So My fury and My anger were poured out and kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as it is this day.’
Jeremiah 44:7 “Now therefore, thus says the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: ‘Why do you commit this great evil against yourselves, to cut off from you man and woman, child and infant, out of Judah, leaving none to remain,
Jeremiah 44:8 ‘in that you provoke Me to wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt where you have gone to dwell, that you may cut yourselves off and be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?
Jeremiah 44:9 ‘Have you forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, the wickedness of the kings of Judah, the wickedness of their wives, your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they committed in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
Jeremiah 44:10 ‘They have not been humbled, to this day, nor have they feared; they have not walked in My law or in My statutes that I set before you and your fathers.’
Jeremiah 44:11 “Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: ‘Behold, I will set My face against you for catastrophe and for cutting off all Judah.
Jeremiah 44:12 ‘And I will take the remnant of Judah who have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to dwell there, and they shall all be consumed and fall in the land of Egypt. They shall be consumed by the sword and by famine. They shall die, from the least to the greatest, by the sword and by famine; and they shall be an oath, an astonishment, a curse and a reproach!
Jeremiah 44:13 ‘For I will punish those who dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence,
Jeremiah 44:14 ‘so that none of the remnant of Judah who have gone into the land of Egypt to dwell there shall escape or survive, lest they return to the land of Judah, to which they desire to return and dwell. For none shall return except those who escape.’ “
Jeremiah 44:15 Then all the men who knew that their wives had burned incense to other gods, with all the women who stood by, a great multitude, and all the people who dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying:
Jeremiah 44:16 “As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of the LORD, we will not listen to you!
Jeremiah 44:17 “But we will certainly do whatever has gone out of our own mouth, to burn incense to the queen of heaven and pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. For then we had plenty of food, were well-off, and saw no trouble.
Jeremiah 44:18 “But since we stopped burning incense to the queen of heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked everything and have been consumed by the sword and by famine.”
Jeremiah 44:19 The women also said, “And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven and poured out drink offerings to her, did we make cakes for her, to worship her, and pour out drink offerings to her without our husbands’ permission?”
Jeremiah 44:20 Then Jeremiah spoke to all the people–the men, the women, and all the people who had given him that answer–saying:
Jeremiah 44:21 “The incense that you burned in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, you and your fathers, your kings and your princes, and the people of the land, did not the LORD remember them, and did it not come into His mind?
Jeremiah 44:22 “So the LORD could no longer bear it, because of the evil of your doings and because of the abominations which you committed. Therefore your land is a desolation, an astonishment, a curse, and without an inhabitant, as it is this day.
Jeremiah 44:23 “Because you have burned incense and because you have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD or walked in His law, in His statutes or in His testimonies, therefore this calamity has happened to you, as at this day.”
Jeremiah 44:24 Moreover Jeremiah said to all the people and to all the women, “Hear the word of the LORD, all Judah who are in the land of Egypt!
Jeremiah 44:25 “Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying: ‘You and your wives have spoken with your mouths and fulfilled with your hands, saying, “We will surely keep our vows that we have made, to burn incense to the queen of heaven and pour out drink offerings to her.” You will surely keep your vows and perform your vows!’
Jeremiah 44:26 “Therefore hear the word of the LORD, all Judah who dwell in the land of Egypt: ‘Behold, I have sworn by My great name,‘ says the LORD, ‘that My name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, “The Lord GOD lives.”
Jeremiah 44:27 ‘Behold, I will watch over them for adversity and not for good. And all the men of Judah who are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by famine, until there is an end to them.
Jeremiah 44:28 ‘Yet a small number who escape the sword shall return from the land of Egypt to the land of Judah; and all the remnant of Judah, who have gone to the land of Egypt to dwell there, shall know whose words will stand, Mine or theirs.
Jeremiah 44:29 ‘And this shall be a sign to you,’ says the LORD, ‘that I will punish you in this place, that you may know that My words will surely stand against you for adversity.’
Jeremiah 44:30 “Thus says the LORD: ‘Behold, I will give Pharaoh Hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies and into the hand of those who seek his life, as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, his enemy who sought his life.’ “
Ezekiel 8:1 And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I sat in my house with the elders of Judah sitting before me, that the hand of the Lord GOD fell upon me there.
Ezekiel 8:2 Then I looked, and there was a likeness, like the appearance of fire–from the appearance of His waist and downward, fire; and from His waist and upward, like the appearance of brightness, like the colour of amber.
Ezekiel 8:3 He stretched out the form of a hand, and took me by a lock of my hair; and the Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven, and brought me in visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the north gate of the inner court, where the seat of the image of jealousy was, which provokes to jealousy.
Ezekiel 8:4 And behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, like the vision that I saw in the plain.
Ezekiel 8:5 Then He said to me, “Son of man, lift your eyes now toward the north.” So I lifted my eyes toward the north, and there, north of the altar gate, was this image of jealousy in the entrance.
Ezekiel 8:6 Furthermore He said to me, “Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations that the house of Israel commits here, to make Me go far away from My sanctuary? Now turn again, you will see greater abominations.”
Ezekiel 8:7 So He brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, there was a hole in the wall.
Ezekiel 8:8 Then He said to me, “Son of man, dig into the wall”; and when I dug into the wall, there was a door.
Ezekiel 8:9 And He said to me, “Go in, and see the wicked abominations which they are doing there.”
Ezekiel 8:10 So I went in and saw, and there–every sort of creeping thing, abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed all around on the walls.
Ezekiel 8:11 And there stood before them seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel, and in their midst stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan. Each man had a censer in his hand, and a thick cloud of incense went up.
Ezekiel 8:12 Then He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the room of his idols? For they say, ‘The LORD does not see us, the LORD has forsaken the land.’ “
Ezekiel 8:13 And He said to me, “Turn again, and you will see greater abominations that they are doing.”
Ezekiel 8:14 So He brought me to the door of the north gate of the LORD’s house; and to my dismay, women were sitting there weeping for Tammuz.
Ezekiel 8:15 Then He said to me, “Have you seen this, O son of man? Turn again, you will see greater abominations than these.”
Ezekiel 8:16 So He brought me into the inner court of the LORD’s house; and there, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs toward the temple of the LORD and their faces toward the east, and they were worshiping the sun toward the east.
Ezekiel 8:17 And He said to me, “Have you seen this, O son of man? Is it a trivial thing to the house of Judah to commit the abominations which they commit here? For they have filled the land with violence; then they have returned to provoke Me to anger. Indeed they put the branch to their nose.
Ezekiel 8:18 “Therefore I also will act in fury. My eye will not spare nor will I have pity; and though they cry in My ears with a loud voice, I will not hear them.”
Ezekiel 16:1 Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Ezekiel 16:2 “Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,
Ezekiel 16:3 “and say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD to Jerusalem: “Your birth and your nativity are from the land of Canaan; your father was an Amorite and your mother a Hittite.
Ezekiel 16:4 “As for your nativity, on the day you were born your navel cord was not cut, nor were you washed in water to cleanse you; you were not rubbed with salt nor wrapped in swaddling cloths.
Ezekiel 16:5 “No eye pitied you, to do any of these things for you, to have compassion on you; but you were thrown out into the open field, when you yourself were loathed on the day you were born.
Ezekiel 16:6 “And when I passed by you and saw you struggling in your own blood, I said to you in your blood, ‘Live!’ Yes, I said to you in your blood, ‘Live!’
Ezekiel 16:7 “I made you thrive like a plant in the field; and you grew, matured, and became very beautiful. Your breasts were formed, your hair grew, but you were naked and bare.
Ezekiel 16:8 “When I passed by you again and looked upon you, indeed your time was the time of love; so I spread My wing over you and covered your nakedness. Yes, I swore an oath to you and entered into a covenant with you, and you became Mine,” says the Lord GOD.
Ezekiel 16:9 “Then I washed you in water; yes, I thoroughly washed off your blood, and I anointed you with oil.
Ezekiel 16:10 “I clothed you in embroidered cloth and gave you sandals of badger skin; I clothed you with fine linen and covered you with silk.
Ezekiel 16:11 “I adorned you with ornaments, put bracelets on your wrists, and a chain on your neck.
Ezekiel 16:12 “And I put a jewel in your nose, earrings in your ears, and a beautiful crown on your head.
Ezekiel 16:13 “Thus you were adorned with gold and silver, and your clothing was of fine linen, silk, and embroidered cloth. You ate pastry of fine flour, honey, and oil. You were exceedingly beautiful, and succeeded to royalty.
Ezekiel 16:14 “Your fame went out among the nations because of your beauty, for it was perfect through My splendor which I had bestowed on you,” says the Lord GOD.
Ezekiel 16:15 “But you trusted in your own beauty, played the harlot because of your fame, and poured out your harlotry on everyone passing by who would have it.
Ezekiel 16:16 “You took some of your garments and adorned multicolored high places for yourself, and played the harlot on them. Such things should not happen, nor be.
Ezekiel 16:17 “You have also taken your beautiful jewelry from My gold and My silver, which I had given you, and made for yourself male images and played the harlot with them.
Ezekiel 16:18 “You took your embroidered garments and covered them, and you set My oil and My incense before them.
Ezekiel 16:19 “Also My food which I gave you–the pastry of fine flour, oil, and honey which I fed you–you set it before them as sweet incense; and so it was,” says the Lord GOD.
Ezekiel 16:20 “Moreover you took your sons and your daughters, whom you bore to Me, and these you sacrificed to them to be devoured. Were your acts of harlotry a small matter,
Ezekiel 16:21 “that you have slain My children and offered them up to them by causing them to pass through the fire?
Ezekiel 16:22 “And in all your abominations and acts of harlotry you did not remember the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, struggling in your blood.
Ezekiel 16:23 “Then it was so, after all your wickedness–‘Woe, woe to you!’ says the Lord GOD–
Ezekiel 16:24 “that you also built for yourself a shrine, and made a high place for yourself in every street.
Ezekiel 16:25 “You built your high places at the head of every road, and made your beauty to be abhorred. You offered yourself to everyone who passed by, and multiplied your acts of harlotry.
Ezekiel 16:26 “You also committed harlotry with the Egyptians, your very fleshly neighbours, and increased your acts of harlotry to provoke Me to anger.
Ezekiel 16:27 “Behold, therefore, I stretched out My hand against you, diminished your allotment, and gave you up to the will of those who hate you, the daughters of the Philistines, who were ashamed of your lewd behaviour.
Ezekiel 16:28 “You also played the harlot with the Assyrians, because you were insatiable; indeed you played the harlot with them and still were not satisfied.
Ezekiel 16:29 “Moreover you multiplied your acts of harlotry as far as the land of the trader, Chaldea; and even then you were not satisfied.
Ezekiel 16:30 “How degenerate is your heart!” says the Lord GOD, “seeing you do all these things, the deeds of a brazen harlot.
Ezekiel 16:31 “You erected your shrine at the head of every road, and built your high place in every street. Yet you were not like a harlot, because you scorned payment.
Ezekiel 16:32 “You are an adulterous wife, who takes strangers instead of her husband.
Ezekiel 16:33 “Men make payment to all harlots, but you made your payments to all your lovers, and hired them to come to you from all around for your harlotry.
Ezekiel 16:34 “You are the opposite of other women in your harlotry, because no one solicited you to be a harlot. In that you gave payment but no payment was given you, therefore you are the opposite.”
Ezekiel 16:35 ‘Now then, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD!
Ezekiel 16:36 ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Because your filthiness was poured out and your nakedness uncovered in your harlotry with your lovers, and with all your abominable idols, and because of the blood of your children which you gave to them,
Ezekiel 16:37 “surely, therefore, I will gather all your lovers with whom you took pleasure, all those you loved, and all those you hated; I will gather them from all around against you and will uncover your nakedness to them, that they may see all your nakedness.
Ezekiel 16:38 “And I will judge you as women who break wedlock or shed blood are judged; I will bring blood upon you in fury and jealousy.
Ezekiel 16:39 “I will also give you into their hand, and they shall throw down your shrines and break down your high places. They shall also strip you of your clothes, take your beautiful jewelry, and leave you naked and bare.
Ezekiel 16:40 “They shall also bring up an assembly against you, and they shall stone you with stones and thrust you through with their swords.
Ezekiel 16:41 “They shall burn your houses with fire, and execute judgments on you in the sight of many women; and I will make you cease playing the harlot, and you shall no longer hire lovers.
Ezekiel 16:42 “So I will lay to rest My fury toward you, and My jealousy shall depart from you. I will be quiet, and be angry no more.
Ezekiel 16:43 “Because you did not remember the days of your youth, but agitated Me with all these things, surely I will also recompense your deeds on your own head,” says the Lord GOD. “And you shall not commit lewdness in addition to all your abominations.
Ezekiel 16:44 “Indeed everyone who quotes proverbs will use this proverb against you: ‘Like mother, like daughter!’
Ezekiel 16:45 “You are your mother’s daughter, loathing husband and children; and you are the sister of your sisters, who loathed their husbands and children; your mother was a Hittite and your father an Amorite.
Ezekiel 16:46 “Your elder sister is Samaria, who dwells with her daughters to the north of you; and your younger sister, who dwells to the south of you, is Sodom and her daughters.
Ezekiel 16:47 “You did not walk in their ways nor act according to their abominations; but, as if that were too little, you became more corrupt than they in all your ways.
Ezekiel 16:48 “As I live,” says the Lord GOD, “neither your sister Sodom nor her daughters have done as you and your daughters have done.
Ezekiel 16:49 “Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughter had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
Ezekiel 16:50 “And they were haughty and committed abomination before Me; therefore I took them away as I saw fit.
Ezekiel 16:51 “Samaria did not commit half of your sins; but you have multiplied your abominations more than they, and have justified your sisters by all the abominations which you have done.
Ezekiel 16:52 “You who judged your sisters, bear your own shame also, because the sins which you committed were more abominable than theirs; they are more righteous than you. Yes, be disgraced also, and bear your own shame, because you justified your sisters.
Ezekiel 16:53 “When I bring back their captives, the captives of Sodom and her daughters, and the captives of Samaria and her daughters, then I will also bring back the captives of your captivity among them,
Ezekiel 16:54 “that you may bear your own shame and be disgraced by all that you did when you comforted them.
Ezekiel 16:55 “When your sisters, Sodom and her daughters, return to their former state, and Samaria and her daughters return to their former state, then you and your daughters will return to your former state.
Ezekiel 16:56 “For your sister Sodom was not a byword in your mouth in the days of your pride,
Ezekiel 16:57 “before your wickedness was uncovered. It was like the time of the reproach of the daughters of Syria and all those around her, and of the daughters of the Philistines, who despise you everywhere.
Ezekiel 16:58 “You have paid for your lewdness and your abominations,” says the LORD.
Ezekiel 16:59 ‘For thus says the Lord GOD: “I will deal with you as you have done, who despised the oath by breaking the covenant.
Ezekiel 16:60 “Nevertheless I will remember My covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you.
Ezekiel 16:61 “Then you will remember your ways and be ashamed, when you receive your older and your younger sisters; for I will give them to you for daughters, but not because of My covenant with you.
Ezekiel 16:62 “And I will establish My covenant with you. Then you shall know that I am the LORD,
Ezekiel 16:63 “that you may remember and be ashamed, and never open your mouth anymore because of your shame, when I provide you an atonement for all you have done,” says the Lord GOD.’ “
Ezekiel 18:1 The word of the LORD came to me again, saying,
Ezekiel 18:2 “What do you mean when you use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying: ‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes, And the children’s teeth are set on edge’?
Ezekiel 18:3 “As I live,” says the Lord GOD, “you shall no longer use this proverb in Israel.
Ezekiel 18:4 “Behold, all souls are Mine; The soul of the father As well as the soul of the son is Mine; The soul who sins shall die.
Ezekiel 18:5 But if a man is just and does what is lawful and right;
Ezekiel 18:6 If he has not eaten on the mountains, nor lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, nor defiled his neighbour’s wife, nor approached a woman during her impurity;
Ezekiel 18:7 If he has not oppressed anyone, but has restored to the debtor his pledge; Has robbed no one by violence, but has given his bread to the hungry and covered the naked with clothing;
Ezekiel 18:8 If he has not exacted usury nor taken any increase, but has withdrawn his hand from iniquity and executed true judgment between man and man;
Ezekiel 18:9 If he has walked in My statutes and kept My judgments faithfully–He is just; He shall surely live!” Says the Lord GOD.
Ezekiel 18:10 “If he begets a son who is a robber or a shedder of blood, who does any of these things
Ezekiel 18:11 And does none of those duties, but has eaten on the mountains or defiled his neighbour’s wife;
Ezekiel 18:12 If he has oppressed the poor and needy, robbed by violence, not restored the pledge, lifted his eyes to the idols, or committed abomination;
Ezekiel 18:13 If he has exacted usury Or taken increase–Shall he then live? He shall not live! If he has done any of these abominations, He shall surely die; His blood shall be upon him.
Ezekiel 18:14 “If, however, he begets a son who sees all the sins which his father has done, and considers but does not do likewise;
Ezekiel 18:15 Who has not eaten on the mountains, nor lifted his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, nor defiled his neighbour’s wife;
Ezekiel 18:16 Has not oppressed anyone, nor withheld a pledge, nor robbed by violence, but has given his bread to the hungry and covered the naked with clothing;
Ezekiel 18:17 Who has withdrawn his hand from the poor and not received usury or increase, but has executed My judgments and walked in My statutes–He shall not die for the iniquity of his father; He shall surely live!
Ezekiel 18:18 “As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, robbed his brother by violence, and did what is not good among his people, behold, he shall die for his iniquity.
Ezekiel 18:19 “Yet you say, ‘Why should the son not bear the guilt of the father?’ Because the son has done what is lawful and right, and has kept all My statutes and observed them, he shall surely live.
Ezekiel 18:20 “The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.
Ezekiel 18:21 “But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die.
Ezekiel 18:22 “None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall live.
Ezekiel 18:23 “Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord GOD, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live?
Ezekiel 18:24 “But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All the righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, because of them he shall die.
Ezekiel 18:25 “Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not fair.’ Hear now, O house of Israel, is it not My way which is fair, and your ways which are not fair?
Ezekiel 18:26 “When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, commits iniquity, and dies in it, it is because of the iniquity which he has done that he dies.
Ezekiel 18:27 “Again, when a wicked man turns away from the wickedness which he committed, and does what is lawful and right, he preserves himself alive.
Ezekiel 18:28 “Because he considers and turns away from all the transgressions which he committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.
Ezekiel 18:29 “Yet the house of Israel says, ‘The way of the Lord is not fair.’ O house of Israel, is it not My ways which are fair, and your ways which are not fair?
Ezekiel 18:30 “Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways,” says the Lord GOD. “Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin.
Ezekiel 18:31 “Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel?
Ezekiel 18:32 “For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord GOD. “Therefore turn and live!”
Ezekiel 20:1 It came to pass in the seventh year, in the fifth month, on the tenth day of the month, that certain of the elders of Israel came to inquire of the LORD, and sat before me.
Ezekiel 20:2 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Ezekiel 20:3 “Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Have you come to inquire of Me? As I live,” says the Lord GOD, “I will not be inquired of by you.” ‘
Ezekiel 20:4 “Will you judge them, son of man, will you judge them? Then make known to them the abominations of their fathers.
Ezekiel 20:5 “Say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “On the day when I chose Israel and raised My hand in an oath to the descendants of the house of Jacob, and made Myself known to them in the land of Egypt, I raised My hand in an oath to them, saying, ‘I am the LORD your God.’
Ezekiel 20:6 “On that day I raised My hand in an oath to them, to bring them out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, ‘flowing with milk and honey,’ the glory of all lands.
Ezekiel 20:7 “Then I said to them, ‘Each of you, throw away the abominations which are before his eyes, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.’
Ezekiel 20:8 “But they rebelled against Me and would not obey Me. They did not all cast away the abominations which were before their eyes, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I said, ‘I will pour out My fury on them and fulfill My anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.’
Ezekiel 20:9 “But I acted for My name’s sake, that it should not be profaned before the Gentiles among whom they were, in whose sight I had made Myself known to them, to bring them out of the land of Egypt.
Ezekiel 20:10 “Therefore I made them go out of the land of Egypt and brought them into the wilderness.
Ezekiel 20:11 “And I gave them My statutes and showed them My judgments, ‘which, if a man does, he shall live by them.’
Ezekiel 20:12 “Moreover I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, that they might know that I am the LORD who sanctifies them.
Ezekiel 20:13 “Yet the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they did not walk in My statutes; they despised My judgments, ‘which, if a man does, he shall live by them’; and they greatly defiled My Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out My fury on them in the wilderness, to consume them.
Ezekiel 20:14 “But I acted for My name’s sake, that it should not be profaned before the Gentiles, in whose sight I had brought them out.
Ezekiel 20:15 “So I also raised My hand in an oath to them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, ‘flowing with milk and honey,’ the glory of all lands,
Ezekiel 20:16 “because they despised My judgments and did not walk in My statutes, but profaned My Sabbaths; for their heart went after their idols.
Ezekiel 20:17 “Nevertheless My eye spared them from destruction. I did not make an end of them in the wilderness.
Ezekiel 20:18 “But I said to their children in the wilderness, ‘Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers, nor observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols.
Ezekiel 20:19 ‘I am the LORD your God: Walk in My statutes, keep My judgments, and do them;
Ezekiel 20:20 ‘hallow My Sabbaths, and they will be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I am the LORD your God.’
Ezekiel 20:21 “Notwithstanding, the children rebelled against Me; they did not walk in My statutes, and were not careful to observe My judgments, ‘which, if a man does, he shall live by them’; but they profaned My Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out My fury on them and fulfill My anger against them in the wilderness.
Ezekiel 20:22 “Nevertheless I withdrew My hand and acted for My name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the Gentiles, in whose sight I had brought them out.
Ezekiel 20:23 “Also I raised My hand in an oath to those in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the Gentiles and disperse them throughout the countries,
Ezekiel 20:24 “because they had not executed My judgments, but had despised My statutes, profaned My Sabbaths, and their eyes were fixed on their fathers’ idols.
Ezekiel 20:25 “Therefore I also gave them up to statutes that were not good, and judgments by which they could not live;
Ezekiel 20:26 “and I pronounced them unclean because of their ritual gifts, in that they caused all their firstborn to pass through the fire, that I might make them desolate and that they might know that I am the LORD.” ‘
Ezekiel 20:27 “Therefore, son of man, speak to the house of Israel, and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “In this too your fathers have blasphemed Me, by being unfaithful to Me.
Ezekiel 20:28 “When I brought them into the land concerning which I had raised My hand in an oath to give them, and they saw all the high hills and all the thick trees, there they offered their sacrifices and provoked Me with their offerings. There they also sent up their sweet aroma and poured out their drink offerings.
Ezekiel 20:29 “Then I said to them, ‘What is this high place to which you go?’ So its name is called Bamah to this day.” ‘
Ezekiel 20:30 “Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Are you defiling yourselves in the manner of your fathers, and committing harlotry according to their abominations?
Ezekiel 20:31 “For when you offer your gifts and make your sons pass through the fire, you defile yourselves with all your idols, even to this day. So shall I be inquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live,” says the Lord GOD, “I will not be inquired of by you.
Ezekiel 20:32 “What you have in your mind shall never be, when you say, ‘We will be like the Gentiles, like the families in other countries, serving wood and stone.’
Ezekiel 20:33 “As I live,” says the Lord GOD, “surely with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out, I will rule over you.
Ezekiel 20:34 “I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you are scattered, with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out.
Ezekiel 20:35 “And I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I will plead My case with you face to face.
Ezekiel 20:36 “Just as I pleaded My case with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will plead My case with you,” says the Lord GOD.
Ezekiel 20:37 “I will make you pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant;
Ezekiel 20:38 “I will purge the rebels from among you, and those who transgress against Me; I will bring them out of the country where they dwell, but they shall not enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
Ezekiel 20:39 “As for you, O house of Israel,” thus says the Lord GOD: “Go, serve every one of you his idols–and hereafter–if you will not obey Me; but profane My holy name no more with your gifts and your idols.
Ezekiel 20:40 “For on My holy mountain, on the mountain height of Israel,” says the Lord GOD, “there all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, shall serve Me; there I will accept them, and there I will require your offerings and the firstfruits of your sacrifices, together with all your holy things.
Ezekiel 20:41 “I will accept you as a sweet aroma when I bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you have been scattered; and I will be hallowed in you before the Gentiles.
Ezekiel 20:42 “Then you shall know that I am the LORD, when I bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for which I raised My hand in an oath to give to your fathers.
Ezekiel 20:43 “And there you shall remember your ways and all your doings with which you were defiled; and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight because of all the evils that you have committed.
Ezekiel 20:44 “Then you shall know that I am the LORD, when I have dealt with you for My name’s sake, not according to your wicked ways nor according to your corrupt doings, O house of Israel,” says the Lord GOD.’ “
Ezekiel 20:45 Furthermore the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Ezekiel 20:46 “Son of man, set your face toward the south; preach against the south and prophesy against the forest land, the South,
Ezekiel 20:47 “and say to the forest of the South, ‘Hear the word of the LORD! Thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, I will kindle a fire in you, and it shall devour every green tree and every dry tree in you; the blazing flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be scorched by it.
Ezekiel 20:48 “All flesh shall see that I, the LORD, have kindled it; it shall not be quenched.” ‘ “
Ezekiel 20:49 Then I said, “Ah, Lord GOD! They say of me, ‘Does he not speak parables?’ “
Joel 3:1 “For behold, in those days and at that time, When I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem,
Joel 3:2 I will also gather all nations, And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; And I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land.
Joel 3:3 They have cast lots for My people, Have given a boy as payment for a harlot, And sold a girl for wine, that they may drink.
Joel 3:4 “Indeed, what have you to do with Me, O Tyre and Sidon, and all the coasts of Philistia? Will you retaliate against Me? But if you retaliate against Me, Swiftly and speedily I will return your retaliation upon your own head;
Joel 3:5 Because you have taken My silver and My gold, And have carried into your temples My prized possessions.
Joel 3:6 Also the people of Judah and the people of Jerusalem You have sold to the Greeks, that you may remove them far from their borders.
Joel 3:7 “Behold, I will raise them out of the place to which you have sold them, and will return your retaliation upon your own head.
Joel 3:8 I will sell your sons and your daughters Into the hand of the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off; For the LORD has spoken.”
Joel 3:9 Proclaim this among the nations: “Prepare for war! Wake up the mighty men, Let all the men of war draw near, Let them come up.
Joel 3:10 Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears; Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’ ”
Joel 3:11 Assemble and come, all you nations, and gather together all around. Cause Your mighty ones to go down there, O LORD.
Joel 3:12 “Let the nations be wakened, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; For there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations.
Joel 3:13 Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, go down; For the winepress is full, The vats overflow–For their wickedness is great.”
Joel 3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
Joel 3:15 The sun and moon will grow dark, and the stars will diminish their brightness.
Joel 3:16 The LORD also will roar from Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; The heavens and earth will shake; But the LORD will be a shelter for His people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
Joel 3:17 “So you shall know that I am the LORD your God, dwelling in Zion My holy mountain. Then Jerusalem shall be holy, and no aliens shall ever pass through her again.”
Joel 3:18 And it will come to pass in that day that the mountains shall drip with new wine, The hills shall flow with milk, and all the brooks of Judah shall be flooded with water; A fountain shall flow from the house of the LORD and water the Valley of Acacias.
Joel 3:19 “Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom a desolate wilderness, because of violence against the people of Judah, for they have shed innocent blood in their land.
Joel 3:20 But Judah shall abide forever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.
Joel 3:21 For I will acquit them of the guilt of bloodshed, whom I had not acquitted; For the LORD dwells in Zion.”
Matthew 12:1 At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. And His disciples were hungry, and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat.
Matthew 12:2 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to Him, “Look, Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath!”
Matthew 12:3 But He said to them, “Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him:
Matthew 12:4 “how he entered the house of God and ate the showbread which was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those who were with him, but only for the priests?
Matthew 12:5 “Or have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are blameless?
Matthew 12:6 “Yet I say to you that in this place there is One greater than the temple.
Matthew 12:7 “But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless.
Matthew 12:8 “For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
Matthew 12:9 Now when He had departed from there, He went into their synagogue.
Matthew 12:10 And behold, there was a man who had a withered hand. And they asked Him, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”–that they might accuse Him.
Matthew 12:11 Then He said to them, “What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out?
Matthew 12:12 “Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”
Matthew 12:13 Then He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and it was restored as whole as the other.
Matthew 12:14 Then the Pharisees went out and plotted against Him, how they might destroy Him.
Matthew 12:15 But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all.
Matthew 12:16 Yet He warned them not to make Him known,
Matthew 12:17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:
Matthew 12:18 “Behold! My Servant whom I have chosen, My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased! I will put My Spirit upon Him, And He will declare justice to the Gentiles.
Matthew 12:19 He will not quarrel nor cry out, Nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets.
Matthew 12:20 A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench, Till He sends forth justice to victory;
Matthew 12:21 And in His name Gentiles will trust.”
Matthew 12:22 Then one was brought to Him who was demon-possessed, blind and mute; and He healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw.
Matthew 12:23 And all the multitudes were amazed and said, “Could this be the Son of David?”
Matthew 12:24 Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, “This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.”
Matthew 12:25 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.
Matthew 12:26 “If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?
Matthew 12:27 “And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges.
Matthew 12:28 “But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.
Matthew 12:29 “Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.
Matthew 12:30 “He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.
Matthew 12:31 “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.
Matthew 12:32 “Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.
Matthew 12:33 “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit.
Matthew 12:34 “Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
Matthew 12:35 “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.
Matthew 12:36 “But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
Matthew 12:37 “For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
Matthew 12:38 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered, saying, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from You.”
Matthew 12:39 But He answered and said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.
Matthew 12:40 “For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Matthew 12:41 “The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here.
Matthew 12:42 “The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.
Matthew 12:43 “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none.
Matthew 12:44 “Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.
Matthew 12:45 “Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.”
Matthew 12:46 While He was still talking to the multitudes, behold, His mother and brothers stood outside, seeking to speak with Him.
Matthew 12:47 Then one said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak with You.”
Matthew 12:48 But He answered and said to the one who told Him, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?”
Matthew 12:49 And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers!
Matthew 12:50 “For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”
Matthew 16:1 Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven.
Matthew 16:2 He answered and said to them, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’;
Matthew 16:3 “and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.
Matthew 16:4 “A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” And He left them and departed.
Matthew 16:5 Now when His disciples had come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.
Matthew 16:6 Then Jesus said to them, “Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.”
Matthew 16:7 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “It is because we have taken no bread.”
Matthew 16:8 But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “O you of little faith, why do you reason among yourselves because you have brought no bread?
Matthew 16:9 “Do you not yet understand, or remember the five loaves of the five thousand and how many baskets you took up?
Matthew 16:10 “Nor the seven loaves of the four thousand and how many large baskets you took up?
Matthew 16:11 “How is it you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread?–but to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
Matthew 16:12 Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
Matthew 16:13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
Matthew 16:14 So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
Matthew 16:15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
Matthew 16:16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Matthew 16:17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 16:18 “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
Matthew 16:19 “And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Matthew 16:20 Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ.
Matthew 16:21 From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.
Matthew 16:22 Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!”
Matthew 16:23 But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”
Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
Matthew 16:25 “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.
Matthew 16:26 “For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
Matthew 16:27 “For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.
Matthew 16:28 “Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.”
Matthew 17:1 Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves;
Matthew 17:2 and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.
Matthew 17:3 And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him.
Matthew 17:4 Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
Matthew 17:5 While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!”
Matthew 17:6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid.
Matthew 17:7 But Jesus came and touched them and said, “Arise, and do not be afraid.”
Matthew 17:8 When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.
Matthew 17:9 Now as they came down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man is risen from the dead.”
Matthew 17:10 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”
Matthew 17:11 Jesus answered and said to them, “Indeed, Elijah is coming first and will restore all things.
Matthew 17:12 “But I say to you that Elijah has come already, and they did not know him but did to him whatever they wished. Likewise the Son of Man is also about to suffer at their hands.”
Matthew 17:13 Then the disciples understood that He spoke to them of John the Baptist.
Matthew 17:14 And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying,
Matthew 17:15 “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water.
Matthew 17:16 “So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.”
Matthew 17:17 Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.”
Matthew 17:18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour.
Matthew 17:19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?”
Matthew 17:20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
Matthew 17:21 “However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
Matthew 17:22 Now while they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men,
Matthew 17:23 “and they will kill Him, and the third day He will be raised up.” And they were exceedingly sorrowful.
Matthew 17:24 When they had come to Capernaum, those who received the temple tax came to Peter and said, “Does your Teacher not pay the temple tax?”
Matthew 17:25 He said, “Yes.” And when he had come into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes, from their sons or from strangers?”
Matthew 17:26 Peter said to Him, “From strangers.” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free.
Matthew 17:27 “Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a piece of money; take that and give it to them for Me and you.”
Mark 8:1 In those days, the multitude being very great and having nothing to eat, Jesus called His disciples to Him and said to them,
Mark 8:2 “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat.
Mark 8:3 “And if I send them away hungry to their own houses, they will faint on the way; for some of them have come from afar.”
Mark 8:4 Then His disciples answered Him, “How can one satisfy these people with bread here in the wilderness?”
Mark 8:5 He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven.”
Mark 8:6 So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And He took the seven loaves and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and they set them before the multitude.
Mark 8:7 They also had a few small fish; and having blessed them, He said to set them also before them.
Mark 8:8 So they ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets of leftover fragments.
Mark 8:9 Now those who had eaten were about four thousand. And He sent them away,
Mark 8:10 immediately got into the boat with His disciples, and came to the region of Dalmanutha.
Mark 8:11 Then the Pharisees came out and began to dispute with Him, seeking from Him a sign from heaven, testing Him.
Mark 8:12 But He sighed deeply in His spirit, and said, “Why does this generation seek a sign? Assuredly, I say to you, no sign shall be given to this generation.”
Mark 8:13 And He left them, and getting into the boat again, departed to the other side.
Mark 8:14 Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, and they did not have more than one loaf with them in the boat.
Mark 8:15 Then He charged them, saying, “Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”
Mark 8:16 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “It is because we have no bread.”
Mark 8:17 But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “Why do you reason because you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Is your heart still hardened?
Mark 8:18 “Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?
Mark 8:19 “When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did you take up?” They said to Him, “Twelve.”
Mark 8:20 “Also, when I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of fragments did you take up?” And they said, “Seven.”
Mark 8:21 So He said to them, “How is it you do not understand?”
Mark 8:22 Then He came to Bethsaida; and they brought a blind man to Him, and begged Him to touch him.
Mark 8:23 So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything.
Mark 8:24 And he looked up and said, “I see men like trees, walking.”
Mark 8:25 Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly.
Mark 8:26 Then He sent him away to his house, saying, “Neither go into the town, nor tell anyone in the town.”
Mark 8:27 Now Jesus and His disciples went out to the towns of Caesarea Philippi; and on the road He asked His disciples, saying to them, “Who do men say that I am?”
Mark 8:28 So they answered, “John the Baptist; but some say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.”
Mark 8:29 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered and said to Him, “You are the Christ.”
Mark 8:30 Then He strictly warned them that they should tell no one about Him.
Mark 8:31 And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
Mark 8:32 He spoke this word openly. Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him.
Mark 8:33 But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying, “Get behind Me, Satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”
Mark 8:34 When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
Mark 8:35 “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.
Mark 8:36 “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
Mark 8:37 “Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
Mark 8:38 “For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”
Luke 9:1 Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.
Luke 9:2 He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
Luke 9:3 And He said to them, “Take nothing for the journey, neither staffs nor bag nor bread nor money; and do not have two tunics apiece.
Luke 9:4 “Whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart.
Luke 9:5 “And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them.”
Luke 9:6 So they departed and went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.
Luke 9:7 Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by Him; and he was perplexed, because it was said by some that John had risen from the dead,
Luke 9:8 and by some that Elijah had appeared, and by others that one of the old prophets had risen again.
Luke 9:9 Herod said, “John I have beheaded, but who is this of whom I hear such things?” So he sought to see Him.
Luke 9:10 And the apostles, when they had returned, told Him all that they had done. Then He took them and went aside privately into a deserted place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.
Luke 9:11 But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing.
Luke 9:12 When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted place here.”
Luke 9:13 But He said to them, “You give them something to eat.” And they said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we go and buy food for all these people.”
Luke 9:14 For there were about five thousand men. Then He said to His disciples, “Make them sit down in groups of fifty.”
Luke 9:15 And they did so, and made them all sit down.
Luke 9:16 Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude.
Luke 9:17 So they all ate and were filled, and twelve baskets of the leftover fragments were taken up by them.
Luke 9:18 And it happened, as He was alone praying, that His disciples joined Him, and He asked them, saying, “Who do the crowds say that I am?”
Luke 9:19 So they answered and said, “John the Baptist, but some say Elijah; and others say that one of the old prophets has risen again.”
Luke 9:20 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered and said, “The Christ of God.”
Luke 9:21 And He strictly warned and commanded them to tell this to no one,
Luke 9:22 saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.”
Luke 9:23 Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.
Luke 9:24 “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.
Luke 9:25 “For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?
Luke 9:26 “For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels.
Luke 9:27 “But I tell you truly, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the kingdom of God.”
Luke 9:28 Now it came to pass, about eight days after these sayings, that He took Peter, John, and James and went up on the mountain to pray.
Luke 9:29 As He prayed, the appearance of His face was altered, and His robe became white and glistening.
Luke 9:30 And behold, two men talked with Him, who were Moses and Elijah,
Luke 9:31 who appeared in glory and spoke of His decease which He was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.
Luke 9:32 But Peter and those with him were heavy with sleep; and when they were fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men who stood with Him.
Luke 9:33 Then it happened, as they were parting from Him, that Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah”—not knowing what he said.
Luke 9:34 While he was saying this, a cloud came and overshadowed them; and they were fearful as they entered the cloud.
Luke 9:35 And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!”
Luke 9:36 When the voice had ceased, Jesus was found alone. But they kept quiet, and told no one in those days any of the things they had seen.
Luke 9:37 Now it happened on the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, that a great multitude met Him.
Luke 9:38 Suddenly a man from the multitude cried out, saying, “Teacher, I implore You, look on my son, for he is my only child.
Luke 9:39 “And behold, a spirit seizes him, and he suddenly cries out; it convulses him so that he foams at the mouth; and it departs from him with great difficulty, bruising him.
Luke 9:40 “So I implored Your disciples to cast it out, but they could not.”
Luke 9:41 Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here.”
Luke 9:42 And as he was still coming, the demon threw him down and convulsed him. Then Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the child, and gave him back to his father.
Luke 9:43 And they were all amazed at the majesty of God. But while everyone marveled at all the things which Jesus did, He said to His disciples,
Luke 9:44 “Let these words sink down into your ears, for the Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men.”
Luke 9:45 But they did not understand this saying, and it was hidden from them so that they did not perceive it; and they were afraid to ask Him about this saying.
Luke 9:46 Then a dispute arose among them as to which of them would be greatest.
Luke 9:47 And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a little child and set him by Him,
Luke 9:48 and said to them, “Whoever receives this little child in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me. For he who is least among you all will be great.”
Luke 9:49 Now John answered and said, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow with us.”
Luke 9:50 But Jesus said to him, “Do not forbid him, for he who is not against us is on our side.”
Luke 9:51 Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem,
Luke 9:52 and sent messengers before His face. And as they went, they entered a village of the Samaritans, to prepare for Him.
Luke 9:53 But they did not receive Him, because His face was set for the journey to Jerusalem.
Luke 9:54 And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?”
Luke 9:55 But He turned and rebuked them, and said, “You do not know what manner of spirit you are of.
Luke 9:56 “For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.” And they went to another village.
Luke 9:57 Now it happened as they journeyed on the road, that someone said to Him, “Lord, I will follow You wherever You go.”
Luke 9:58 And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”
Luke 9:59 Then He said to another, “Follow Me.” But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.”
Luke 9:60 Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God.”
Luke 9:61 And another also said, “Lord, I will follow You, but let me first go and bid them farewell who are at my house.”
Luke 9:62 But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
Luke 11:1 Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”
Luke 11:2 So He said to them, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
Luke 11:3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
Luke 11:4 And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.”
Luke 11:5 And He said to them, “Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves;
Luke 11:6 ‘for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him’;
Luke 11:7 “and he will answer from within and say, ‘Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you’?
Luke 11:8 “I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.
Luke 11:9 “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Luke 11:10 “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
Luke 11:11 “If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?
Luke 11:12 “Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
Luke 11:13 “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
Luke 11:14 And He was casting out a demon, and it was mute. So it was, when the demon had gone out, that the mute spoke; and the multitudes marveled.
Luke 11:15 But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.”
Luke 11:16 Others, testing Him, sought from Him a sign from heaven.
Luke 11:17 But He, knowing their thoughts, said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls.
Luke 11:18 “If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? Because you say I cast out demons by Beelzebub.
Luke 11:19 “And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.
Luke 11:20 “But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.
Luke 11:21 “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace.
Luke 11:22 “But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armour in which he trusted, and divides his spoils.
Luke 11:23 “He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.
Luke 11:24 “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’
Luke 11:25 “And when he comes, he finds it swept and put in order.
Luke 11:26 “Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.”
Luke 11:27 And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!”
Luke 11:28 But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
Luke 11:29 And while the crowds were thickly gathered together, He began to say, “This is an evil generation. It seeks a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah the prophet.
Luke 11:30 “For as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so also the Son of Man will be to this generation.
Luke 11:31 “The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.
Luke 11:32 “The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here.
Luke 11:33 “No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a secret place or under a basket, but on a lampstand, that those who come in may see the light.
Luke 11:34 “The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness.
Luke 11:35 “Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness.
Luke 11:36 “If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, the whole body will be full of light, as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light.”
Luke 11:37 And as He spoke, a certain Pharisee asked Him to dine with him. So He went in and sat down to eat.
Luke 11:38 When the Pharisee saw it, he marveled that He had not first washed before dinner.
Luke 11:39 Then the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness.
Luke 11:40 “Foolish ones! Did not He who made the outside make the inside also?
Luke 11:41 “But rather give alms of such things as you have; then indeed all things are clean to you.
Luke 11:42 “But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass by justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.
Luke 11:43 “Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seats in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces.
Luke 11:44 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like graves which are not seen, and the men who walk over them are not aware of them.”
Luke 11:45 Then one of the lawyers answered and said to Him, “Teacher, by saying these things You reproach us also.”
Luke 11:46 And He said, “Woe to you also, lawyers! For you load men with burdens hard to bear, and you yourselves do not touch the burdens with one of your fingers.
Luke 11:47 “Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
Luke 11:48 “In fact, you bear witness that you approve the deeds of your fathers; for they indeed killed them, and you build their tombs.
Luke 11:49 “Therefore the wisdom of God also said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and persecute,’
Luke 11:50 “that the blood of all the prophets which was shed from the foundation of the world may be required of this generation,
Luke 11:51 “from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah who perished between the altar and the temple. Yes, I say to you, it shall be required of this generation.
Luke 11:52 “Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge. You did not enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in you hindered.”
Luke 11:53 And as He said these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to assail Him vehemently, and to cross-examine Him about many things,
Luke 11:54 lying in wait for Him, and seeking to catch Him in something He might say, that they might accuse Him.
Acts 2:1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
Acts 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
Acts 2:3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.
Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 2:5 And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.
Acts 2:6 And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language.
Acts 2:7 Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans?
Acts 2:8 “And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born?
Acts 2:9 “Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,
Acts 2:10 “Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,
Acts 2:11 “Cretans and Arabs–we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.”
Acts 2:12 So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “Whatever could this mean?”
Acts 2:13 Others mocking said, “They are full of new wine.”
Acts 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words.
Acts 2:15 “For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.
Acts 2:16 “But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
Acts 2:17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.
Acts 2:18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy.
Acts 2:19 I will show wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapour of smoke.
Acts 2:20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.
Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall be saved.’
Acts 2:22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know–
Acts 2:23 “Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death;
Acts 2:24 “whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.
Acts 2:25 “For David says concerning Him: ‘I foresaw the LORD always before my face, For He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken.
Acts 2:26 Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad; Moreover my flesh also will rest in hope.
Acts 2:27 For You will not leave my soul in Hades, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
Acts 2:28 You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your presence.’
Acts 2:29 “Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
Acts 2:30 “Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,
Acts 2:31 “he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption.
Acts 2:32 “This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses.
Acts 2:33 “Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.
Acts 2:34 “For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself: ‘The LORD said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand,
Acts 2:35 Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” ‘
Acts 2:36 “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”
Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:39 “For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

Acts 2:47 praising God and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
Galatians 1:1 Paul, an apostle (not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised Him from the dead),

Galatians 1:12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Galatians 1:13 For you have heard of my former conduct in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God beyond measure and tried to destroy it.
Galatians 1:14 And I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries in my own nation, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.
Galatians 1:15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace,
Galatians 1:16 to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood,
Galatians 1:17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia, and returned again to Damascus.
Galatians 1:18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and remained with him fifteen days.
Galatians 1:19 But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother.
Galatians 1:20 (Now concerning the things which I write to you, indeed, before God, I do not lie.)
Galatians 1:21 Afterward I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
Galatians 1:22 And I was unknown by face to the churches of Judea which were in Christ.
Galatians 1:23 But they were hearing only, “He who formerly persecuted us now preaches the faith which he once tried to destroy.”
Galatians 1:24 And they glorified God in me.
Ephesians 5:1 Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.
Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
Ephesians 5:3 But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints;
Ephesians 5:4 neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.
Ephesians 5:5 For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
Ephesians 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

Ephesians 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light

Ephesians 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.

Ephesians 5:13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.
Ephesians 5:14 Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.”
Ephesians 5:15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,
Ephesians 5:16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Ephesians 5:17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
Ephesians 5:18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,
Ephesians 5:19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,
Ephesians 5:20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Ephesians 5:21 submitting to one another in the fear of God.
Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
Ephesians 5:23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Saviour of the body.
Ephesians 5:24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
Ephesians 5:26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,
Ephesians 5:27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
Ephesians 5:28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.
Ephesians 5:29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.
Ephesians 5:30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.
Ephesians 5:31 “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”
Ephesians 5:32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Ephesians 5:33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
Philippians 2:1 Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy,

1Timothy 6:1 Let as many bondservants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, so that the name of God and His doctrine may not be blasphemed.
1Timothy 6:2 And those who have believing masters, let them not despise them because they are brethren, but rather serve them because those who are benefited are believers and beloved. Teach and exhort these things.
1Timothy 6:3 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness,
1Timothy 6:4 he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions,
1Timothy 6:5 useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.
1Timothy 6:6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain.
1Timothy 6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
1Timothy 6:8 And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.
1Timothy 6:9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.
1Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
1Timothy 6:11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.
1Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
1Timothy 6:13 I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate,
1Timothy 6:14 that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing,
1Timothy 6:15 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords,
1Timothy 6:16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honour and everlasting power. Amen.
1Timothy 6:17 Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.
1Timothy 6:18 Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share,
1Timothy 6:19 storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
1Timothy 6:20 O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge—
1Timothy 6:21 by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith. Grace be with you. Amen.

I wanted to do something for God our Father and our Saviour Jesus Christ. I prayed and believe this is what He gave me. The beautiful thing about this is, it’s all God’s Word, Scripture by Scripture, Chapter by Chapter and Book by Book. All I did was highlight the words, phrases, verses etc. that pertain to the particular topic that I wanted to present, and just let the people view it for themselves, the Word of God without any interpretations, opinions or suggestions that may still cause division. This way people can see certain topics from a different perspective but still using the Word of God in every example. All Praise and Glory to God our Father and Jesus Christ our Saviour!
